Bourne: Added due to inactivity and you have a run.
FitterSpace: They are able to add you as a super at their own discretion. The series has plenty of moderators as it is, so I don't see an inherent need for another.
Binarynova: Small game, Only 1 moderator, 3 weeks. Okay.
Racingmonster: The purpose of the video field is directly tied to the "Videos only" checkbox. A screenshot is a lesser form of proof, which is relatively easily misrepresented. Use the comments for now. We shouldn't have screenshots in the videos field, because the runs don't have videos, and they would show like they do.
PeterAfro: Just submit another. (This could probably be improved a bit, but it's super low priority.)
"Separate layouts" isn't really true. There may be separate optimizations for each in some cases, but the intent is to use bootstrap for more portable code. The PC layout may look a bit different due to the new code, but continuing to maintain a solid PC layout is still a priority. (Mobile sites often suck, you're not wrong.)
DeathPony: 9 months offline is plenty to just remove him, and you have a run.
What about when the new Layout is getting released?
This will likely be the next update "soon"
Private Message option [...] This shouldn't be to hard to make i think.
It's actually quite complex. The original plan was to implement with the possibility of multiple users per message, and I am insistent on having some "block user" functionality implemented before launch, and probably some basic spam prevention mechanisms. I personally consider it a very high priority item, but it unfortunately keeps getting pushed back. It's a pain for site staff as well as site users, we're aware.
ManBun: I added you because the other dude never posted a run and the categories look bad.
PreFiXAUT: I'm guessing socialspeedrunner removed themself. I'll remove the other guy because he's been offline 3 months.
PeterAfro: I checked it out. I'd suggest asking the active mod to add another mod or two.
Buffet_Time: Looks like they added you.
dylan8915: Ozotuh's post is pretty accurate.
Token: I'll change this via discretion. Your tweets are protected btw.
Deln: Since the super doesn't have a run, I'll switch it over to you. The other guy has runs, and he has moderated, so it's probably fair to put him as a super as well.
ManBun: It's a headache for us when handling day to day site matters as well. For your other post, Twitch messed up a bunch of links porting over to a new system a few months ago which changed a ton of video links. Most likely either the link is no longer valid, or Twitch's viewer is acting up.
ShadoWorm: Yeah this looks like it's not quite working right.
Racingmonster: Pac was looking at adding some of this when he pushes his next update.
StarOfDoom: The user is at least logging into the account a little bit, so I think it would be out of line to take it away from them. If they hadn't logged in since your original request, I probably would have switched it over now.
Many game moderators don't necessarily want to track every 30 second section of a game. It also depends on the game's level selection capacity and ability to isolate those levels from factors in other levels. Some games make more sense than others, so there's no real guideline.
Hyre: Your run was pending 3-4 days when you posted, that's not even a week. This thread gives ~3 weeks as a guideline for moderator inactivity.
OddsomeOddy: He never added a run, so I'll add you.
Sotherogue: I didn't touch anything, other people did. (Well I banned the guy who did something dumb with his account the other day, but nothing to do with that game really.)
ManBun: I'd say do a run of something FIFA, if you have one, link it. (I'm pretty sure a run was linked in series request by the other guy, so why it's not there I don't know.)
Also for anyone not aware, only Admin (badge) and Full Mod (Yellow sword) are official posts in this thread.
I'll change it, but I don't recommend extremely generic/common usernames.
"Is it possible to delete or edit obsolete runs of players that don't have an account?"
This is probably a bug introduced from changes a couple months ago. You may be able to 'reject' these runs. You should ideally be able to edit them, but that sounds like it's not working right currently.
I'd define fangames as reusing characters or very similar engines from existing games. Homebrews are generally unofficially produced games for consoles, often after the lifetime of the console. The line between "homebrew" and "unlicensed" is a bit vague though.
Here's a couple NES homebrews: http://www.speedrun.com/lawnmower http://www.speedrun.com/Super_Bat_Puncher_Demo
ROMaster2: This thread has some of my opinions on the matter: http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/pb5j2/1#mu5fe There's no good solution that makes both the speedrun.com users and the game's community content, so it's inconsistent.
frenzied_coder: Added due to inactivity.
Haru: Removed the other mod.
Kheartz: I don't see a 2016 version of that game any more. zoton2: Can you describe "somewhat broken", did the time feature break with the timezone code update?
Avanor: I'll add you. DKC kind of got out of hand at one point quite a while ago, and there was no real resolution.
Added pld to Tail Gator because VBA is known to be quite inaccurate with load times.
Added a note to the first post to try the game forums.
Deleted the first account and registered a dummy account, since it appears to be a bad attempt at impersonation. Second guy is banned.
Note: Can't always global ban people for being dumb, but these are pretty obvious cases.
Will look at making a thread soon, but I would like to give some general guidelines along with that. In the meantime feel free to handle these wherever on the "The Site" board (here), we read all the threads in this forums; I also regularly check my Twitch PMs.
DJavier124: Please discuss it with the current moderator, since he is active.
ROMaster2: In my opinion the suggested line is just encouraging a suboptimal solution to the functionality problem (No PMs, people not following games.) I'd rather look at fixing that.
StoneRedGaming: The mod is relatively active on the site. Your first step should be doing/submitting a run in my opinion.
Didn't get a message response regarding pld's situation. Will make a change within the next couple days if no response.
If people want to start using this linked thread to compile recommended emulator information, we can look at making a page to represent this: http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/19h43 (Consider it information gathering, not a popularity contest, obviously.)
pld: You're taking my words out of context. I don't see why someone would intentionally use an inaccurate emulator for a small board unless they simply didn't know that there was a preferred emulator. There is not currently a page on this site detailing emulator information. I'm not at all saying it's correct to use VBA for GB games. I did ask you to discuss it with him. You've now added the information that you had made a post a while ago, which I was not aware of previously. The user also may not follow that game. The site interface should probably do more to ensure that people get notifications for things pertaining to games they moderate.
Under your implied solution it would appear I should immediately remove any GB game moderator who without knowing the norms, uploads a VBA run, instead of trying to resolve the circumstances through discussion. I think there are better solutions than this.
I'll send him a Twitch PM.
