Locking this because it's in bad taste, and if it's not perceived as in bad taste it's just pointless.
xHaviiHx: Series moderation does not inherit any more. This functionality was removed a few months ago with Lighnat0r's game organization update.
ROMaster2: I don't know the answers to the other questions, but
Why not have 3 time records (RT,GT,NL) and change the column titles based on which columns are visible?
Something like this needs done in the timer update. The timer code is poorly handled for multiple timers right now.
I added you since the moderator has been inactive forever.
In the future please use this thread for similar requests: http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7
Maiguels: Added due to inactivity.
zergreenone: Added due to inactivity.
starcrytas: I might've forgotten to click a button. I think that's only the second time I've done that surprisingly.
btrim: I'll just delete Goofy's Fun House for now. Disney series doesn't have strong need for a moderator if you don't want it any more. You should be able to remove yourself. Most large disconnected series are fine without a series moderator. If you want to remove yourself from games and leave them with no moderators, could you give us a list of the empty games.
Sp00keh: Added due to inactivity.
Arctice: There aren't any runs on the page, so I'll remove them and add you.
I moved all the mentioned stuff, let me know if I messed something up. My opinion was that the phrase "rom hacks" really only apply to things like N64 era and previous, as those games were stored on physical chips instead of CDs, if people largely disagree with that we can come up with some other definition.
We batched together everything as a rom hack when switching to the new system, a lot of games need updated to mods. If someone wants to make a list (pastebin or something) I can click through all of it. I haven't really been marking fangames either, as I don't want to leave it in a confusing "half switched" state. Webgames is another can of worms. The filters at the bottom are useful: http://www.speedrun.com/games
This is probably along the lines of letting users host arbitrary PBs on their profiles and letting users search that portion of the database if they really want to. Misc is indeed intended to serve some of that use case. As far as items of historical significance, these things can be captured in guides and forum posts for now. There may be a better way to highlight them, but it seems like rather specific functionality.
Having non-moderator users delete full threads seems like a bad idea. Deleting own posts is certainly fine, but if other users post in your thread, it's not just your stuff you're deleting any more. I'd like localized forum banning as well at some point.
ROMaster2: Yeah I'm special I guess. :(
xSweep: Moderation Requests should generally go through the current moderators per the first post in this thread.
Lo1ts/xHaviiHx: Removed the series mods and moved them to regular mod on all the games. You can remove them there as well if you choose, or you can keep them around.
starcrytas: Added since the run has been pending a long time and it's a small board.
btrim: This may change with Pac's update, not sure.
ROMaster2: I've wanted the ability for a run to exist on a profile without being on a leaderboard for the purposes of personal PB tracking. Abstracting away from the "Game unit" is a bad idea in my opinion. Having the constraint keeps the site manageable. The game moderators manage the game data and tags for the game. Having it cross the lines into other game units makes things chaotic. I'm not opposed to letting users potentially host boards on their profiles in the future, but keeping leaderboards constrained to one per game keeps things sane.
I think your point here have very good reason behind them. I think identifying specific limitations and finding ways to improve them under the current structure gets us to a better place than making the site support very open data connections and whatever the user could ever possibly want. As an example, there is a problem that users cannot personally track PBs without moderators approving them, the solution would be to allow detaching runs from boards (and possibly categories/tags of arbitrary strings the user chooses) This itself seems like a good idea. Allowing users to arbitrarily define categories/tags for any game and put them in the more public system seems like a bad idea.
Early in conceptualizing, we had discussed making every leaderboard just a collection of tags, which is still a possibility, but the game tag still needs tightly controlled to keep site data relatively sane and able to be moderated as such.
We have daily backups. Restoring a full game is not too bad right now, I don't know if we're able to restore a user's data as easily, but it is backed up.
This seems abnormal if you're describing the scenario accurately. Did you do anything else?
Emericus: Added. Request super mod from the mods. Series mods don't inherit any more.
xSweep: All of the things said are true. We don't want empty boards, but if you do a run you can submit through the game request form.
TheStachemallow: Two games for a Fan Games series is pretty low right now. If another game or two got added I'd probably be willing to add it.
I added it to Sonic Fan Games as well as leaving the original Mario Fan Games. I'm unsure what this game is actually called, as both games appear to exist on the Internet.
HolySanctum: Since pretty much nothing was ever done with the page and Scooby games seem to have lots of mods most of the time, this is fine.
My suggestion regarding Call of Duty is to look into adding a couple more moderators, I'm not going to say that's a requirement, just that it may help things. Lo1ts is fine, there's no requirements to check runs every time you visit the site, and 1.5 weeks to verify ILs is probably pretty average compared to many other games. If the current moderator(s) want highly inactive moderators removed, let me know.
I was out of town most of the weekend, my last post in here was 3 days ago lol. I don't do site code, that's why I handle a lot of these requests. I would like to hand this responsibility off eventually, but I think clear guidelines are needed so people taking over can be relatively consistent. It would also be helpful if we could automate many of these requests through a site PM system that still doesn't exist yet. As we continue to improve the site, ideally this thread gets to be less of a headache. It's unfortunately a bit of a "necessary evil" under the current circumstances. Also this was 4 requests taking up 2 pages because people are really opinionated sometimes. A bit of a ramble on my part, but I'm tired. V_V;
DarkOrigins12: It's just a checkbox he probably forgot to click. If the rules say emulators are banned, it's relatively clear that the current expectation is that emulators are banned, it's not exactly superceded by the availability of the option. Playstation emulators are pretty notorious for being inaccurate, so we can't really say that allowing them or disallowing them is unreasonable. I'd say try to sort it out on the forums there first or contact the runner. At a glance I don't think either of you are necessarily wrong in your opinions, but me choosing one person over another wouldn't really solve anything without some actual discussion occurring.
zwlda: Added due to inactivity.
Also user contact info buttons appear to be broken right now, at least for me?
Ditch_eVo: Added. I don't refresh this thread daily or I'd probably lose my mind.
Nostalgia64: Eh there's really no reason not to promote you in this specific case.
Koalarific: The run has been awaiting verification a long time, so this is fine.
scrubjr: Because people get really salty when we add games and they have their own leaderboards. I have multiple opinions about this that I don't wish to clutter this thread with.
Yeah I didn't see it existed either. Last I checked users could delete boards in the first couple weeks of creation, maybe that was changed.
You can PM me the change on Twitch if you point your account here to your Twitch account, or we can use a social media site like Twitter if you'd prefer. I need a way to reference the account here with the social media site (with a post or by adding it to your profile) though, otherwise I can't be 100% sure it's you. Edit: kirkq on Twitch, looks like social media links are broken for a bit.
mrmutantduck: Subcategories or adding a separate game for PC are both good options. Banning is stupid I agree, but try to sort out out with the current moderators first, maybe they just aren't well aware of their options.
TenLexI: Added
ROMaster2: I don't see any posts by that user unless another site staff member deleted them and didn't ban the account for some reason.
