lmao just a thing: you can lie saying you are bad playing when you are a pro just to enter to the amateur category and then win much more easily in amateur when you have to be in pro category lol idk

Basque Country

also, a bit hard to send the card if you are from sweden and somebody of america or japan win lmao

@KilleDragon it can be divided based on your PB on src. @pellsson cool idea. I would personnally prefer any%. If you want the tourney to last the whole weekend, we can just do best of 3 instead of best of 1.

Saturday can be any% and Sunday could be warpless. Btw I would do that...

I would prefer any% since it's only a weekend long, and btw yes I would love to compete!

  • I would love to compete. I love participating in tournaments and races like these.
  • The format makes sense, but as others have mentioned, "pros" could just enter the "amateur" bracket and have a much easier run through. I think that it would be best to have one bracket and give a cart to top 2 or have two brackets: one with people under x time and one with people above x time PBs.
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Warpless is by far the better category for races. Imo warpless races can get far more interesting than any%.
  • This is a fun way to determine who gets carts. The only problem is that the winners probably will already have an Everdrive/Powerpak, so the carts may not go to people in need.
  • I don't have any other feedback. Looking forward to participating!

Edit: I read through these responses and actually really like ThePKing's idea of one any% tournament and one warpless tournament. Winner of each would win a cart.

Couldn't you remove people from the bracket? Idk where you plan on hosting this tournament, but since experts are known as, well, experts then you could just remove them from the amateur bracket.

I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to.

@JeremyMKW well then what would happen with the pro and amateur brackets winning a cart each?

It sounds like a fun way to give away practice carts. If this happens I'll definitely join in.

  • I will compete.
  • Y E S
  • I live in Israel, which means that it is only one hour difference.
  • Any%
  • I think it is, because this way is only dependant on the skill level of the player himself and NOT on luck
  • Yes, I do have, I think that people with Powerpak or Everdrive should not be able compete, because if they will win, they will have no use of the cart, exceot for that, my brother's birthday is on the 2nd of August so can you please make it so it will not fall on the 2nd?

Also, I am an amateur, not a pro. Edit: I like ThePKing's idea, and I really do think that this is how the tournament needs to go.

Hi, just wanted to ask, if my controller breaks while I practice, can I use an emulator instead? I am asking this because I already had 2 controllers that broke, so just in case...

This tournament seems like a really good idea and I can handle time zones pretty well. Any% would seem better since the tournament is going to be short and I'd like to compete! (as an amateur) (also everdrives are expensive so yeah)

I would like to compete, but I don't have a NES so a physical pellsson savestate yes marcus wouldn't be useful to me, so if I won can it be shipped to someone who it would be useful to?

Georgia, USA

I would compete on emulator totes, but I would not like the practice cart (if I somehow won or got lucky), I haven't even done a warpless attempt But it sounds fun!

So is the tournament happening? @pellsson Also @Lul_ecks_dee if you win 1st place, pellson can give it to 2nd, and if 2nd used emulator, it would be given to 3rd...

i would love to compete! I currently only run any% but i could definitely learn warpless for the tournament. However i don't have a nes so the cart would be nothing but a collectors item to me MingLee

Utah, USA

PogChamp I've been needing a physical cart of the practice ROM! I'd be in for sure. Warpless > any%
