So the Problem with 454 is just, that the Framerulle is such a limiting Factor. We saw Yesterday that we are not far away from 4:54 at all. But after that the Speedrunners nearly got the TAS which is insane. The only Framerule coming after this is just a possible 4-2, which was only done by Niftski i think? And which is not practicaly doable in a Speedrun.

But: If you watch some comparementvids on Youtube, its easy to see that there are little differences on nearly each Level.

In 8-4 there are no framerules, every frame counts. It's not like after lightning 4-2 is added there is no way to improve anymore, you could still get a better time if you have a better 8-4. 8-4 is super hard to do perfectly, so don't worry about the world record becoming perfect for at least the next decade or two.

I think that if it ever is added (which there is a high probability it isn't), it will be a category extension. If you want though, you can speedrun it without a speedrun.com leaderboard. Also, there are romhacks that do this. See a recent thread for the download to one of those.
