So i am genuinely curious if OpenEmu is good alt for people that use mac to speed run. I have been trying to figure out for so long that i'm resorting to the forums so please if anyone knows if OpenEmu can be used please reply. ( :
I know that it has VSync automatically turned on, and Tecate got a 459.989 pattern and axe grab, but it ended up being a 5:00.3 because of ACTUAL timing, as VSync would make it run at 60 fps instead of 60.098
You'll end up with a time that is slower than if you used the exact same inputs on a system or emulator that ran at actual speed.
Hello, I ran with OpenEmu for a long time, and all my emulator runs used it. Even though it was slower because of the fps difference, you'll still get fine performance with it because it runs on either a Nestopia or FCEUX core, which are both good options. Once I got my times in the 5:03 range I was even able to get my runs verified at the proper time using the bowser patterns.
I enjoy playing on OpenEmu for sure. It's a great emulator.
Just know that your times will be slower than if someone played the game the exact same way you did, because it runs at 60fps instead of 60.0988139fps thanks to VSync (I haven't found a way to disable the VSync, so seems like we're stuck with it).
No need to apologize for the "stupid" question, but I'm new to this. How can you measure time with OpenEmu?
@KingOfJonnyBoy I have OpenEmu and I have a problem. When I press the run (B) button, I go up to turbo and I can’t find any option to turn it off. In the game controls, you can see the closest to a turbo button there is the B button, and I can’t seem to separate turbo-running from normal-running. It’s not that my OpenEmu version is old, because it’s the newest version available (v.2.4.1). Hope a solution is found. Thanks for all your contributions to this game. Also, @Joky83, get a splitter. If you have windows, get livesplit: https://livesplit.org If you have Mac, get splitter: https://splitter.mberk.com
Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
