Welcome to the speedrunning community of Minecraft, I'm a beginner too, I'm curious, what type of runs are you gonna do!
Pretty much every beginner has started with RSG 1.16. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person that started with 1.14
its alright, you just have to get the pearl trade or else your screwed, or looting 3
I was going to do 1.16 cuz I feel like they are a lot easier for starting b/c of the piglins
