1.18 version is drastically changes the game in terms of generation, so I think that speedruns need a new category for this version and above. It will also create hype and give other players a chance to race for the top positions. difficulties in the form of brutal piglins, a small drop chance of a ender pearl, buried stronghold and new high of world should give players more experience due to dangers. what is happening now is not a skill, but some kind of random.
imo the categories should be split 1.0-1.6 1.7-1.8 1.9-1.13 1.14-1.15 1.16-1.16.1 1.16.2-1.17 1.18+
@diskriminant if you think that it takes no skill in 1.16 rsg then you are very wrong. It takes a lot of skill and knowledge to get a good time. So don't say things that aren't true just to get your way. Also, I'm not against 1.18 category at all. Just standing up for 1.16 rsg
