WARNING: SPOILERS. IF YOU WANT TO FOUND COMBINATIONS YOURSELF, DON'T WATCH IT. Because there are a lot of questions and posts about perfect TAS inputs, I decided to make a video and file complitation of subpixel optimizations everywhere amost without entertainment. I THINK IT CAN BE BETTER IF THIS THREAD WILL BE STICKY, MODS, PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT. Anyway I made a tool in resources, which contains .fm3 file. Of course it is possible that I missed some small optimizationsm but I contacted with Maru and HappyLee for this, so it shouldn't be too much of them. Anyway they, of course, willn't give actual time save eventually. You can send to me your version if you know how to optimize some more subpixels. Updated to 1.1 version Changes over previous video: Better fast acceleration, coming out of the pipe. It had been known, but we missed it at previous video: at the 3d part of 1-1 we had to lose them to make a flagpole glitch. At the 2nd room of 8-4 we saved 1 subpixel, hopefully this time we are correctly 1 subpixel behind new frame. At the 5th room of 8-4 we saved subpixels. (Not enough to save a frame). Saved 1 subpixel at the 1-2 turnaround. It comes from releasing left before final fast accel and manipulating subspeed by that. This is new improvement, but not enough even to save inside-framerule frame. Adding Wierwindle to the credits and correcting MrWint's name.
Update: maybe final 1-2 clip and turnaround optimization for subpixels and theoritically perfefct 8-2 (better spawn proven to not be possible by using cheat (1 frame earlier spawn then in previous video, not meaning anything, because of coin toss).
update: 1-2 was improved by a subpixel by me :)
I have removed HappyLee and Maru from the authors listing on the posted file in the resources section per a request to remove it.
For the second time.
If their names are added to that again, I will remove it altogether.
We'll keep this short and sweet. Don't tag people unless you have directly communicated with them and they told you they were okay with tagging them.
I'm sorry, I just can't understand why it is worse to tag thier names in recources, when they actually helped me with this thing. And if something like that will happen again, please write forum post after first removing, because I'm not understanding what going on.
Did they directly collaborate with you on this specific project? Did they touch this .fm3 file that you've posted? Did you ask them if they wanted to be tagged as a part of this project?
When I get a DM that, verbatim, says: "I never asked to have my name added to that. Please remove me from that" I will respect their wishes and remove them.
Even if they did help you with this, they don't have to be tagged if they don't want to be.
If there is some sort of misunderstanding between you and them, resolve it with them or just leave it the way it is now.
I'm not going to post a status report every time I change or fix something minor and the proceed to have a discussion about it unless I feel that it's necessary.
Update 1.2.2, lol. Hopefully now walljump room is really 1 subpixel behind next frame. We saved 1 here, but idk how to check it.
After checking MrWint's TAS, I realized that my walljump room is still not perfect. He claims that F62 is 1 subpixel behind, so I'm gonna try it in any%.
By the way, actually 8-3 with FPG and "242" is 3 frames faster then without FPG - 1 frame from walking to the castle and 2 frames from timer countdown.
Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
