hey guys. just some quick advertising for my new video. i spliced together the best segments for super mario bros. the final time was 4:55.16, but that may be off by a bit becuase my timer is crappy as can be. list of runners that were used in this video niftski kosmic gtace99 somewes leon toast tavenwebb 2002
enjoy
@Zbomb You may want to take a look at Niftski's new Any% WR. In that run, he played 8-2 one framerule faster than previous WR runs and the 8-2 in your video. By doing a very precise jump over the tall pipe and specific bullet bill glitch manipulation, he saved a framerule. You should probably include that, if you choose to revise your spliced run video.
Also, on that note, you also did not showcase the faster 8-1 framerule achievable using a fast acceleration at the start of the level and a flagpole glitch at the end of the level. Many runners have performed this at some point, but Niftski got the framerule save on his fifth 4:54 attempt (you can see it in his most recent YouTube video). I don't know if you chose to leave that out or not.
@Zbomb Take all the time you need. Glad to see your interest in documenting a spliced human theory run. I'm sure plenty of people would help you gather information for your video.
would you guys be willing to contact the runners i used footage from so i dont get in trouble?
@Zbomb I only ever contacted Kosmic once (via sr.c message), the runners themselves are too busy running (speedrunning) and likely doing whatever the heck they need to do. Considering the time, they're probably asleep right now.
@supabloxyball Yeah, crazy stuff. Niftski told stream he was going to do 9 4:54 attempts as a joke, just like how Kosmic did 9 4:55 attempts and got his 4:55.913. The madman got the 8-1 frame rule save on his FIFTH attempt, and you can see it here:
The easiest way too get ahold of them would be one of four ways:
- via Twitch stream chat (whenever they start a stream)
- via Discord (If they even have it or check it)
- via Twitter (Again, if they check it. They probably do.)
- via YouTube comments (Very rarely they check this. You'd likely get info this way from Bismuth or somebody.)
@Simplistic_Memes "Also, on that note, you also did not showcase the faster 8-1 framerule achievable using a fast acceleration at the start of the level and a flagpole glitch at the end of the level."
I know I've heard the explanation before but now I cant find it... but why is fast acceleration not used in every level?
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
- The run's full session must be included in the submission description.
- For emulator runs below 4:57.000, some form of input display must be visible for the duration of the run. A hand-cam or input
