So i was thinking about the following: What if it was possible to clip into the blocks that lead up to the 3 warp pipes in the secret exit room in 4-2? I dont have the most knowledge of this game to know if this is possible but maybe someone could respond with their thoughts.
Regards :D

Thank u!
So I don’t wanna make it suspenseful, but what happens is if you clip in the blocks and enter the warp pipes without the number appearing (like you do to get to the minus world), It basically restarts that portion (The Secret Ending of 4-2). Watch the video to understand better… Watch from 9:42 till 11:04 to save time…
Asgore89, i was actually talking about clipping into the stairs, like the same trick that managed to save time in 1-2, to be used in 4-2. I just lack the in depth knowledge of the game to know if this is even possible in the first place.
btw. Speedsavirrunner, sure that thats going to happen, but if you did the same thing runners like Kosmic or Niftski do in 1-2 with goint far enough to the right to make the number appear, you could i think possibly save a bit of time since the same srategy is faster in 1-2.
Finding a setup without the left - right press is going to be hard though, but things like this always throw me back to 2016 when people were shocked that a human performed a Flagpole glitch in 1-1, and now its just part of the standart strat for smb any% runs.
R4ckr yes sure, that’s what those runners did to save time! Btw I hope HappyLee’s video was helpful and was related to the topic ;)
you have to scroll the screen sufficently to the right as well as in 1-2 , but doing the same than there it would maybe be posible to save more in all case, nope is imposible to do that, also because in 4-2 there are no enemies and no void before the stair (which have that 8-2 part)

Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
