Hey, I'm a little bit confused about a recent run of mine. I had an average 1-1 underground finishing with a 379 but my Split shows a 29.4 in the end what should be the time you get after a successful FPG. I clearly didn't do that so I'm a bit worried that it is caused by my emulator or something that could invalidate future runs of mine. Is it somehow possible t get that time without a FPG? Or did I split wrong?
so the problem is your timing. using -2.70 is tricky because the title screen operates on a frame rule basis. when you hit start, depending on what framerule you hit it on, it can actually be anywhere from 2.7 to 2.4 seconds. the way to get 100% accurate timing is to (for the smb solo cart) start the timer on reset. start with -3.27 and start the timer when you hit reset and then press start right when the game boots up. You seemed to start the timer RIGHT after a framerule ended
I use -2.70 (I'm sure Kosmic will frown upon that). -2.70 works as long as you hit start immediately when the title screen appears. In this video, you waited too long to hit start and the window to get that correct is pretty small. -3.27 is generally the recommended way to do it.
Oh, I thought that doesn't matter as long as the timer is on 0.00 when the 400 appears on the top right of the screen. And since I'm not going for BBG any time soon I didn't think about framrules on the tilte screen either. Thanks for clarifying that! I'll adjust my timing.
Yeah, you want the timer to be at 0.00 when 400 appears but since you started late, you'll see that didn't happen in the video.
If you're at a fairly high level, close to 5:00, being consistent on your start can make a difference and you can know the patterns you'll get.
Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
