Hi I’m new to this and I wonder is it against the rules to use the command /gamerule keepinventory true?
If you die, you keep your items then. It's cheating. If you choose Gamemode Survival you aren't even able to do that...
U can't use it because that's not survival minecraft. If im not mistaken u need to open cheats to do it (which is not allowed) and secondly it's a command.
Ah I see thank you for helping me! The rules wasn’t that clear about it tho so that’s why I asked.
Definitely not allowed it's so obvious us just look at the rules in the rules section it's fairly obvious
The rules, I believe, very clearly state that cheats are banned
In 1.16 though, you can change gamerules before starting the world. I don't know though if that counts as a cheat.
Even if you could use keep inventory on it would just be cheating let’s say you got your ender pearls and blaze rods but you were far away from the portal you could just end your life and repawn at spawn
Well IDK I think that is not a big cheat but IDK if you are allowed to use that.
just turn off forum notfications like a normal person im not saying necros are good, but its your fault for having them on if you don't want 100+ notifications each day
edit: its also just 1 notification not that big of a deal. im following amogus on src right now and ~30 of my 40 notifications are from that game alone (yes forum notifs are off, there are just that many wrs in the queue)
This thread ended almost one year ago. It makes no sense to post on it
I said in my post that I don't disagree with necroposts being a bad thing, but I do disagree with the reaction you had to getting 1 notification from an unimportant forum post.
should probably not respond to this thread but oh well
Cookie basically had an aneurism because he got 1 notification from this thread. This is minecraft java edition: half of the people who run this game are like 12. You're going to get a lot of people who don't read rules or threads, or do stupid stuff. If you get that upset from an irrelevant forum post, then turning off forum posts is what you should do. You can still read the forums, just check in on the games that you follow every couple of days.
The actual reason that necroposts are considered impolite is because it bumps resolved threads to the top of the list, cluttering up the forums with unnecessary topics. Most people have legitimate questions, and those questions may go unanswered because they get crowded out by joke posts and necros. Most of the time people necro threads because they haven't read them, and you get responses like this. SuboticaGaming clearly did not read the thread at all, his post is barely on topic, and is contradictory to the conclusion that the thread reached months ago. That is the problem that I have with necroposts.
I would also like to point out that by responding to this thread, we have made the problem worse by keeping this thread at the top. I won't respond to this thread anymore; arguing on the internet is a waste of time.
