I just tested it. It freezes as soon as I hit the step, saying "MUST RUN RIGHT", although I'm pressing right. It even shows it in the inputs: "-R--" BTW, I love the idea for this ROM.
The frame counter doesn't tick, it starts only after I press right. When I land on the first pixel and the game freezes, the counter shows 145.
Wait, it's actually correct. It freezes two frames after landing when I have to press B, too. Sorry For the confusion. I guess "RUN RIGHT" means "press R+B".
@pellssonx They are FPG ROM codes. D70 is correct inputs first pixel, and you can hold left after jumping at the pole. D50 is second pixel, and when you clip in the block you have to let go of left the exact frame you jump.
Ok. Well D50 is original sockfolder setup, it is just harder and from the second pixel.
Other people could help much more than I can. I haven't even been able to check it out, I just got out of school and am busy for the next 3 hours
Ok, D50 is a good one to practice though, BC every once in a while you land second pixel and have to do the frame perfect
As soon as Mario start falling (after the stairs), pressing right is no longer required for FPG (as far as I know). I just got a FPG :-). I like the message that shows after a successful attempt.
Your speed subpixel depends on when you release right. And when you have a good speed subpixel, the inputs at the flag are less precise. Sockfolder explains it in his videos: (explaination starts around 2:10) and (starts at 4:50)
I made a FCEUX (.fm2) movie that performs the glitch perfectly.

Hm, so you don't have to hold it ALL the way down, but a very far way down to get subpixels as good as possible maybe?
Let go of it right after Mario starts descending
is there any way that you could make the reset button select rather than up, on poll inputs it resets as soon as you mess up if you're dpad is not perfect
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
- The run's full session must be included in the submission description.
- For emulator runs below 4:57.000, some form of input display must be visible for the duration of the run. A hand-cam or input
