Dragons head swinging to other side randomly?

I don't know if I am doing anything wrong here, but I have lost several runs due to the dragon swinging his head the opposite way after going to perch. Anyone know what's going on here? It has happened too many times.

This used to happen to me a lot as well. It's a sign that you're exploding your beds too late. You're letting the dragon get way too low, I would recommend exploding your first bed before it gets as low as it did in your video example, if possible. Someone else can & will probably elaborate on this statement though. But good luck on your future runs, hopefully this won't happen again! :)

just keep going with the one cycle its not hard to do it wrong side

Yeah, that first bed was quite bad. It barely did any damage. Also, if the dragon height is bad, just blow one up early rather than later. Especially if you have 7 beds.

@LeafpoolSR true but doing it on the right side is far more easy and should of course be preferred, so avoiding it is somewhat important. Also with difficulties successfully one-cycling and/or limited beds you can see how this would be a problem

@Nymsan 100% agree

i have practiced one cycling on the wrong side before, in case this happens. i think that 4 bed is possible with good timing

and it did happen in one of my runs, in my sggp pb (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UoEW9fYbpc0NAxlG8mWi4lIQN7D9OwzS/view?usp=sharing)

its not too hard imo it couldve been 4 bed if i was better at one cycling

yeah I can definitely see how a 4 bed would be possible on the wrong side. It's something that's rarely practiced, or at least something that I rarely practice, but which actually seems like a good habit. I've never really thought about practicing it, but I'll definitely start doing it from now on, thank you!

people have done it withou hitboxes on, which is much harder than this i would believe

although like @Griefless said just explode one early

edit: wait is that a 27 hour run

@LeafpoolSR It has a minute a second and a millisecond. So 27 minutes.

@LeafpoolSR The only reason why I didn't continue doing it on the wrong side is because I've tried many times before as this happens often to me, and have failed everytime. @Nymsan I used to kill the dragon without hitboxes, but ever since I started using the hotboxes, it was always harder for me to determine the height for the dragon (when to use the 1st bed). I see know in the video that I exploded the bed 1 swing or whatever too late. Thanks!

also, I just realized this trick could be done if you START on the wrong side, explode a bed a tad bit late and it will switch sides to the side you are on

@Griefless ohhhhhhh

Guys I have just finally pb'd after around 3 months of grinding. Thanks for telling me I'm just late to the dragon. It's hard for me to tell the dragon height with hitboxes on.

Yay! :D Congrats! What time did you get?

Also, if you need a dragon practice map there's one in the "resources" page.

@Griefless I've been using Emma's dragon practice map, but I still end up being 1 swing too late most of the time because the hit boxes distract me. I got a 25:37.
