open the zip in your PC like a folder and extract from there whatever there is there; if you can't open it for whatever, right click and "extract all"
a zip is a compression of whatever files are inside it so basicaly just putting a zip there is not gonna do anything, the file has to be inside the zip, at least if I understand what's going on here
In your screenshot above you have the files backwards - you selected a .bps patch file for the ROM, and selected a zip containing your ROM for the patch. Need to unzip the zip file and reverse your selection.
