Maya's Dilemma

General Tips for Paragon:

  • When you're prompted to enter RAGE, you can do it without sacrificing time! Simply make sure Paragon is facing left at least a little bit. You can use the camera, you can turn the character with the analog stick, whichever combination of the two. If you enter rage while facing left, you won't get a cutscene, so you can do it to your heart's content.

Pack 1:

This pack is interesting because for a couple of reasons. After skipping the cutscene, you have a barrel right in front of you, so spamming A to skip the cutscene+punch the barrel at someone is a good idea. You can then chain that into a combo that ends with super attack. So to clarify, that's attack->attack->super attack finisher. The reason we end with the super attack finisher is that it cleaves very well for little energy. The first 2 hits of the super attack are expensive, so we want to avoid using those as much as possible. Get comfortable doing attack->attack->super attack because you'll use it a lot as Paragon in this mission and in Paragon's Revenge.

Pack 2:

After clearing pack 1, super jump up while the barrier collapses, teleport forward if you need to, because you want to land on the platform as this pack spawns in. Do your attack->attack->super attack combo. Start the combo aimed at one ravager, then before the final hit (super attack), flick the stick toward the other ravager. You'll want to get comfortable with this as well. The reason super attack finisher cleaves so well is it creates a large explosion around Paragon, and shoots a line forward. So you can use it to finish off the ravager you were slapping while simultaneously firing a line at the other one. This should cleave off the eviscerators between the ravagers as well. More eviscerators will spawn on the other side of the platform, so drop down as soon as you can so the eviscerators stay down there. Continue to do what you did with the ravager pair, attack->attack->super attack toward another eviscerator. If you're not able or there's only one eviscerator, simply do a full attack->attack->attack combo which will kill the one eviscerator.

Pack 3:

The cutscene puts you on top of the platform and allows the 2 eviscerators to grab a barrel each as soon as it ends. Walk off the platform and input a super attack to do a super landing attack. This will cleave at least 2 enemies and all 4 if you're lucky. If 2 or more remain, use attack->attack->super attack to cleave them. If it's only one, you can attack->attack->attack or teleport+attack.

Pack 4:

Before engaging this group, you'll want to go past them and super jump+teleport through the barrier section on either side. Once on the other side, use attack->attack->super attack combos to cleave off enemies. Hug the barrier while doing this because you should only need to kill 2 enemies before it clears. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to clear, but it's faster to wait near the barrier.

Pack 5:

Run or teleport to the other side of the barrier. Wait next to a barrel while enemies spawn in. You can use this time to refuel some energy. As soon as the spawn beams come through, grab the barrel next to you and try to throw it through one ravager to the other ravager, hitting them both. Alternatively, cleave them or kill them one by one like you've done thusfar. Note: Any enemies you skipped in Pack 4 by crossing the barrier as soon as it went down will come and join you in this pack. So if you only killed 2, the bare minimum, 4 more will join you. That's why during Pack 4 you want to hug the barrier while dealing whatever damage you can as you wait. It shouldn't matter either way depending on how fast and conveniently you can cleave during this pack.

Pack 6:

Now you have to clear roughly 5 enemies and you know how to do it by now. attack->attack->super attack to cleave as many as you can. Ravagers might block your attacks so try to fixate on another enemy and cleave toward them so the lingering hitboxes take them out. Alternatively take them out one by one again.

Obstacle section:

Teleport+attack the first panel to break through it. super jump and super attack to take out the 2nd panel and land up there. Do a regular jump and super attack while up there to take out the final panel and land down below. It's important that these aerial super attacks be inputted before Paragon reaches the apex of her jumps, so you don't do a landing attack mistakenly.

Pack 7:

You have some time to wait for the 2 ravagers and 2 Eviscerators to come in. You can charge your energy, grab a pole, or commit to trying to cleave all 4 of them with attack->attack->super attack. Be mindful of your energy before determining which you do. But depending on the enemy AI, any of these are viable - attack->attack->super attack being the fastest. Once they're done, it's time to climb.

The climb:

After the cutscene, you'll want to get into the opened room, super jump, teleport toward a wall, climb up a step, wall jump, teleport across, climb up a step, wall jump, teleport across, climb up a step, wall jump, teleport across, climb up a step, wall jump, teleport across, then DEPENDING on your height you may teleport+attack to the goal or just teleport to the goal if you're too low.

Spider-Man

SPIDER-MAN!

The goal of this level is to destroy the 11 computer consoles around the arena. There are 6 on the top floor, in two groups of 3, and 5 around the bottom floor. The consoles must explode before they are counted as destroyed, and once initially broken will begin a long timer to exploding on their own. You should try to ensure that the console is destroyed while you are at each one, as the timer is often unreliable and really does take a long time. It is best to use running attacks or launch attacks to send the computer consoles flying, maximizing the chance that they will be destroyed. Beginning the level by intentionally draining your own energy with super-blocks can actually prove to be very beneficial in this level, and for speed purposes can actually produce a very fast completion of the level. Spider-Man is able to use a super grab from a distance to web an object and pull it towards him, and if Spider-Man is low enough on energy, he will not attempt to super grab enemies, which is extremely slow, and instead will always super grab the computer consoles. This allows you to destroy the consoles quickly and more effectively avoid the enemies.

Destroy the first computer by standing in the correct position near the pillar and performing a super grab so that the computer bounces off the pillar without landing in Spidey's hands. If your positioning is off, the computer will land in your hands and you can throw the computer into the wall which will be slightly slower. Then, turn around and swing over to the 2nd computer, destroy it and then the rest of the computers on the ground floor. Super jump onto the upper platform and super grab the computers before throwing them. Be mindful of how much energy you have so that you don't accidentally super grab the spawning enemy. You can't grab enemies while they're spawning in but be careful once they have fully spawned in. Once these 3 computers are destroyed, swing over to the other side of the upper platform. Super grab and throw the 2 computers beside each other while the enemy is spawning in before destroying the final computer.

Video:

AIRLIFT

This is a very difficult mission, as most of the strats are related to defeating the enemies quickly, but also contain a long list of things that you should not do as they make the mission more risky, when it is already easy to fail. Begin the mission by using Spider-Mans aerial super or regular combo attack to quickly kill the first Invaders. When the first Invader that spawns near the helicopter spawns, move in that direction and kill him, and stay near the first helicopter to kill the next several Invaders, any that are far away should teleport to you. Next will be two groups of 4 Invaders that spawn one after the other, and the best strat to defeat them is to pick up the nearby taxi and throw it at the first group, pick it back up, turn around, and throw it at the second group. If you time it well and aim well, you should be able to take out all 8 Invaders in two swift throws. After you defeat these groups, large groups of Invaders will spawn and charge the helicopter. The best strat to defeat these Invaders is to allow them to group together near the helicopter, and use the collateral throw glitch (when enemies impact with your hitbox while throwing another enemy and instantly die) to kill multiple Invaders at once.

After the first helicopter takes off, position yourself in the center of the large area to prepare for the Predator to spawn and immediately aerial grab it when you skip the cutscene. After the Predator, several Invaders will spawn and head for the second helicopter. Use the nearby taxi to kill some, but be careful not to throw in the direction of the helicopter. After this, once again use the collateral throw glitch to kill several at a time, and when they are all dead, aerial grab the final Predator.

Some things to be careful about or note about this mission in general:

  • Obviously, don't let Invaders attack the helicopters for too long. They are not terribly hard to destroy, making this mission very risky in the run.

  • Sometimes, Invaders will accidentally super jump directly into the helicopter blades and kill themselves, you can also super throw them into the blades, but this is somewhat slow.

  • You should avoid throwing anything in the direction of the helicopters, as objects deal massive damage to them.

  • You should also avoid performing full attack combos directly next to the helicopters, as many times your attacks will hit the helicopters just as much as they will hit the Invaders.

  • The enemies in the beginning of the stage are indoors and/or close to walls. This makes standard throws very powerful as throwing an invader into a wall should result in an instant kill. Couple this with being able to collateral anyone that walks into your throw animation, and it can be very convenient.

Video:

DEADLY VENOM

This is a relatively simple ring-out manipulation. When the level begins, jump over the chasm and swing behind the Daily Bugle signs so that Venoms line of sight with you is broken, causing him to chase out after you. Venom's swinging causes him to consistently lose height so it should not be long before he rings out after he gets over the abyss.

Video:

High Voltage

This level can be very tricky for Spider-Man to behave properly, but the best method is to fly out over the pit between the Daily Bugle signs to a particular location in which we can simply hold the mobility button to keep Johnny Ohm in the air without him ringing out, and even though he is supposed to lose height, he will not ring out as long as he is flying. To better see the location, it is best to watch the video tutorial. It is important to note that going too far outward while flying will result in a ring out, so this strat relies on a "sweet spot." Once Spider-Man follows you out over the pit, you can raise your height and make an attempt to aerial grab him if he is not falling on his own. How fast the mission is will depend on how Spider-Man's AI behaves.

Some extra general notes about the level and the strat:

  • If Spider-Man doesn't immediately follow you the camera will be far back and you may not be able to see Johnny Ohm. If you cannot see yourself due to a poor camera arrangement, practicing counting to reach the sweet spot without the visual cue is a strategy to try (count to 4). You can hold the jump button for a couple seconds to increase your height if you're unsure of where you are or you think you're too low but don't hold the button for too long because you'll run out of energy quickly.

  • Spider-Man may end up swinging into the Daily Bugle sign for a while before he starts swinging over the pit. You can move around and hold the jump button briefly to try and get Spidey to move and swing over the pit but again, don't hold the jump button for too long

  • Spidey may shoot you with projectiles while you're over the pit. So you'll want to make sure you're holding the super and mobility buttons while over the pit so you'll recover as soon as possible and keep a bit of distance from the ring out area so you don't get hit into the ring out.

Human Torch

FIELD TRIP TO HELL

The goal of this level is to destroy all 5 Turlin Engines, the last 4 of which will be behind shield walls until the first is destroyed. The fastest way for Human Torch to destroy a Turlin Engine is with 2 aerial super attacks (note: aerial super, not flying super), however you will only be able to destroy 4 of the Engines with this method due to the energy consumption of the move. For this reason, the best method for the mission is this: While the level is loading in on the loading screen, hold the movement stick in the up-right direction, this will start Human Torch on the bottom floor and closer to an object we will use. From this modified starting position, pick up one of the rocks underneath the starting ledge, jump and throw the rock into the first Turlin Engine. After you skip the cutscene, destroy the two Engines on the left-hand side of the arena with aerial super attacks, then fly over to the other side of the room to destroy the last two. If you are low on energy when you land on the other side, pick up the payphone on the wall and throw it at one of the Engines to deal some damage to it and save an aerial super attack.

Video:

TORCHBEARER

Thanks to @PaulDSSB for this guide.

General Tips:

  • Torch is more accurate in his flying projectiles if he's holding [B] at the same time. this can be awkward as he'll rise, but it's worth keeping in mind at longer ranges.

  • Torch can stagger his super attack combo and do a lot of damage by continuously using the first hit of his super attack combo. Super attack->delay->super attack->delay->repeat.

  • Dodge+Attack is a good way to launch enemies for an aerial attack combo.

  • Dodge+Super attack when at low energy should be free or cheap.

  • Aerial recovery ([L] + [R] when you get launched) is taxing. Sometimes Torch gets stuck and cannot act at all for a few seconds after recovering. It's worth keeping in mind.

Pack 1:

There's a couple of poles in this section of the hallway (and later ones) and they look like toothbrushes, so I'll refer to them as such. Fly to the left toothbrush and grab it. An eviscerator will spawn closeby, swing at him and he'll die in one hit. After that, 2 eviscerators and 1 mauler will spawn near the other toothbrush. Try to cleave them and you should be able to kill the trio with this toothbrush. When the toothbrush eventually snaps, grab the other toothbrush in the room if it's still up. Use this to cleave the incoming 2 eviscerators and anyone left over from the previous trio. cleave with projectiles/staggered super attacks to the extent that you must, then move into the next 'room' which has 3 barrels.

Pack 2:

Fly into the next room and activate rage if you have the prompt (You have the downtime while the pack spawns in). Focus on shooting/throwing barrels at ravagers. Using barrels, projectiles, and dodge+attack are ideal ways of dealing with these enemies. Ravagers tend to sidestep a bit so they'll often line themselves up with another ravager or with a mauler, you can take this opportunity to shoot a projectile at the two or throw a barrel at the two.

New Room

Pack 3:

Grab the toothbrush on the left side and turn around to face the 3 eviscerators. You'll cleave them down with this toothbrush and the ravager above you will either stand still, drop down on the other side where he can't reach you, or drop down to join you. If he drops down to join you, aim to hit him as soon as you can because if he shoots you, say goodbye to the toothbrush. 3 more eviscerators will spawn and ideally you use this same toothbrush to deal with them. Alternatively if the brush doesn't last, you can go into the small section up ahead and grab the toothbrush there, or use super attacks to cleave them/dodge+attack to take them out one by one quickly. Once you kill the final ravager to spawn in, the next pack will start spawning and you want to be ready for that.

Pack 4:

2 ravagers and 1 mauler will spawn on an elevated barrier. I recommend throwing a projectile at the mauler+ravager pairing if possible. Ideally you cleave them both so you can handle the other ravager 1v1 safely. This should also push the mauler into the area below before the next room. From there you can grab the rectangular fuel cells and use them to pick apart the mauler without wasting energy. 2 ravagers will staggered spawn in on that same raised barrier. You can throw fuel cells at them or use projectiles to take them out. They're frail and should die pretty easily. If for some reason they drop down on the other side, you'll have to fly over and deal with them directly. But they should attempt to shoot you from where they spawn. 1 more mauler will spawn on that same elevated platform. You can go up there and meet him, facing toward the next room. That way you can attack him toward the next room and save time on movement. You can also wait for him to come down to you if that's more practical. Dodge+attack, fuel cells, staggered super combos. Whatever is most convenient based on objects around you, energy, etc.

New Room

Pack 5:

The next room has 2 fuel cells and a breakable wall. I recommend grabbing a fuel cell and either throwing it at the barrier, or waiting for the enemies to break the barrier for you. You'll want to focus the ravagers since they'll attempt pot shots from the back. One of them is next to explosive barrels and you can shoot them to take them out. There's two toothbrushes in here and they're going to help you take out the 4 total eviscerators very easily. If there's no ravagers around (even if one is about to spawn), grab a toothbrush and use it to cleave the eviscerators and mauler. It's good to use said toothbrush on these ravagers as they spawn. However, be mindful that a jump shot from a ravager has little to no counterplay. I recommend flying/jumping to dodge the shot if you want to retain your toothbrush. Use the other toothbrush to continue cleaving them down. If there are no toothbrushes and you still have enemies to cleave- use projectiles+staggered super attacks to cleave them down.

Pack 6:

2 maulers will spawn on the elevated barrier platform. If you still have a toothbrush, you can jump/fly up there and cleave them with it. Otherwise, projectiles+super attacks can cleave nicely. Clean them up however works best.

"Pack" 7:

1 mauler at the end of the level. Bully him with projectiles/dodge+attack combos/objects you still may have. Ideally kill him near the final doorway so that you can simply walk forward and fall down. Keep in mind that falling to the goal will inflict fall damage. If you're low on health, I mean SUPER LOW, then use a falling aerial attack or use [L] to break your fall.

Video:

OLD FRIENDS

Unfortunately there is no simple quick-kill strat to defeat the Thing in this mission, you're going to have to beat him the old fashioned way. Some good strats for attacking the Thing are to use Torch's counter super attack to fire projectiles at a low energy cost, as well as using his aerial super, and super combo. You can also use the electric walls to potentially deal a lot of damage to him. Use Torch's wave dash (quickly tapping the mobility button while holding the super button) to glide across the floor swiftly and without consuming much energy. If you lower Things shield quickly with objects or attacks, it may be worthwhile to use a finisher to end the level quickly, which would be at your discretion.

Video:

Along Came a Spider/Rage of the Beast

At this point in the run, we generally believe that the next sacrifice mission can be either Along Came a Spider or Rage of the Beast, depending on your skill with Spider-Man or Wolverine, or which level you feel the most confident in. The only effect this decision has on the overall run is the change in the menuing for doing either mission: if you choose ACaS, which following this route should be in the first mission slot, then Iron Man's missions (which you play next) will be in the first mission slot, allowing you to access the next missions with no extra inputs on the menu screen; if you choose RotB, which following this route should be in the fourth mission slot, then Iron Man's missions will be in the fourth slot, and will require extra inputs to access them. This time difference is very minimal and comes down to only a few seconds, and so if you are good enough with Wolverine, RotB can still be much faster. It is at your discretion.

ALONG CAME A SPIDER

Spider-Man outclasses Human Torch in terms of strength, and so the best way to defeat the Human Torch is to utilize this to your advantage. You start in the top left corner of the room, and from this position you run behind the stone column next to you to break Torch's line of sight with you, and cause him to get close. While waiting, you can pick up one of the heavy crates nearby to hit him with. These, combined with the forklifts as well, can quickly deal great damage to Human Torch. Spider-Man's finisher may or may not be justified depending on how quickly you are able to lower Human Torch's shield.

Video:

RAGE OF THE BEAST

This level requires you to defeat Storm with Wolverine. These characters are relatively equal in terms of strength, so while objects can be useful, the solution will not be simply throwing something heavy at her. The best quick-kill method Wolverine can do to defeat Storm in this level is to utilize the electric walls, which Storm will sometimes be caught in. The best way to do this is to use Wolverine's sprinting super into an aerial super grab while nearby or even impacting with the electric walls. It should deal continuous damage to Storm, but she will likely recover and try to get back in the fight so clever Wolverine play may be required if she gets out of hand. When the level begins, Storm will often attempt to do a super projectile, this can either be dodge as soon as the level begins or super blocked. Do not perform Wolverine's finisher on Storm: Wolverine's finisher is 15 seconds long, the longest in the game, and in most situations is not worth doing.

Video (links to the proper attempt):

Iron Man

SCUTTLE

This mission is yet another "kill all the enemies" mission at Avenger's Mansion. The first two enemies that will spawn are two Decapitators, one after the other, coming from the red hallway first and the green hallway second. The jewelry cases are useful in dealing some immediate damage to them, followed by Iron Man's super combo and super projectile, though be mindful of energy consumption. After the two Decapitators, fly down the green hall, and 3-4 Invaders should be there or spawning in; once they are all fully spawned in, using a flying projectile to potentially kill all of them in one shot. After this group, several more Invaders will spawn, use Iron Man's regular combo to fight them until Iron Man gets Rage, where you should switch to using a super projectile, this should kill most of the Invaders in one hit as long as they crash into a wall. After the Invaders are killed, three Decapitators will spawn; it is important to remain in the green hallway during this time as it may bait the two Decapitators on the other side of the room to fall into the electric floor. Otherwise, use similar tactics as before to defeat the Decapitators. After the Decapitators, three Invaders will spawn which are easily killed with either super projectiles or regular combos. Finally, a Decapitator and two Invaders will spawn. When these enemies are defeated, the electric floor will disappear.

When the electric floor disappears, skip the cutscene as soon as you're able and jump down behind the Obliterator as it is spawning, super grab it and it will fly into the re-activated electric ceiling, taking lots of damage; jump down and throw an object at it to finish it off. Obliterators cannot catch objects, and show all Obliterators in this section are best killed either while enraged with super projectiles/Iron Man's infinite aerial super attack, or with objects. Invaders can be defeated using the same methods as prior. Destroy the computer console when the Decapitators spawn, it is best to use it as a heavy object to throw, and kill Decapitators with the same methods as before. The final enemies of the match will be Obliterators.

Video:

CALL OF HEROES

The premise of this level is similar to Airlift, where you must defeat all enemies without the satellites being destroyed. Invaders will spawn in first, which can easily be killed by Iron Man's regular combo, or usually a single shot from his super attack. During the time that Invaders are spawning, attempt to destroy at least one part of the Daily Bugle sign to create a gap. This is because after the Invaders finish spawning, Decapitators will begin spawning and will either chase you or head for the satellite to attack it. Attack the Decapitators that are attacking the satellite so that they follow you instead, then jump off the Daily Bugle building to the rooftop below. The Decapitators should follow you off, and will always die on impact with the floor of the rooftop. You can do this until the first satellite is secured.

For the second satellite, fire a flying super projectile at the first group of Invaders from afar, whom you should be able to hit multiple of with one shot, and then continue flying over to the satellite. Defeat the next Invaders with regular combos or super projectiles. When the Decapitators spawn on the rooftop next to the second satellite, it is possible to fire a super projectile to recoil them off the building instantly. The final enemies of the level are two Desolators that appear on the rooftop below the Daily Bugle building, who can be killed with super projectiles or by flying over and quickly aerial grabbing them.

Video:

THE ETERNAL SOLDIER

This is one of the more difficult boss fights in the game as there is no environmental damage that can reliably hurt Brigade, as well as there being no possibility for ring-out manipulation. As such, we have to go old school for this mission and pummel him. Before fighting Brigade, work your way around the room to destroy the Tesla coils that power the machine in the center of the stage, ending with the one at the highest elevation, as Brigade can use it to regain health and energy. The Tesla coils must actually explode to count as destroyed, launch attacks are best for this. From there, it is best to jump down and attempt to hit Brigade with heavy objects, however this may be difficult at times as he has maximum strength and can catch anything you can throw at him. You should eventually get Rage, and at this point hopefully Brigades shield will also be relatively low. While in Rage, use Iron Man's infinite super aerial attack to hopefully finish Brigade off. If you lower his shield quickly enough, it may be worthwhile to do Iron Man's finisher on Brigade to end the fight quickly, as Iron Man's finisher is only a few seconds and it guarantees a victory. This would be up to your discretion.

Video:

Advanced Strategy (High Risk, High Reward):

When the mission opens, there's a skippable cutscene and then 2 unskippable ones that reveal the tesla coils you're meant to disable. Don't touch the control stick until the 2nd unskippable cutscene starts. As long as you wait until then before holding a direction, you may now hold down-right to head toward the first tesla coil.

If done right, Brigade will immediately grab a barrel (thus he cannot block/dodge or shoot you). Grab the tesla coil, fly and throw it at him. It should hit him dealing a lot of damage, and ideally hit him again on the way down or knock him through the pillar. From there, head to the bottom left tesla coil and fly+throw it at him. From here, he should be extremely weak, you should have a lot of energy, now your goal is to play goalkeeper while killing him as safely as possible. Use projectiles and homing missiles to prevent him from getting into the center and healing. Also use any kind of objects you can get. Because he's taken so much damage, he should reach DANGER pretty prematurely. Use this to get a finisher if you're able.

Video session with several example attempts:

Casualties of War

One of the easiest Sacrifice missions in the game is saved for the end of the game mostly so that we can take some stress out of the late game. It is best to open up the level with a single super attack, as it usually hits Wolverine and will give you a moment of advantage. Brigade far outclasses Wolverine in terms of strength, and so it is very easy to kill Wolverine with heavy objects. The only defense he has against this is his super block, which he does frequently. He will quickly run out of energy if he continues to do this however, so he should not give trouble for too long. The best object to throw at Wolverine is the semi truck. Another effective method to kill Wolverine quickly is to start by grabbing the lamp post to the side of you at the starting position and use that to attack Wolverine, as 2 swings + a throw can kill him and is very fast.

Video:

Magneto

MASTER OF MAGNETISM

Magneto's first level is a quick one if done well. The first objective is to destroy the 8 Tesla coils around the room, begin with the ones closest to the starting position and, while flying, super grab them, followed immediately by pressing the attack button, to instantly pick them up and throw them. This will usually destroy them, especially if you are holding down the super button as well to perform a super throw on them. Work your way around the room doing this. Sometimes the Tesla coils will not explode, at which point you may have to pick them up and throw them again. After all are destroyed, attempt to charge your energy. Ignore all enemies during the first phase as they do nothing for progression. When the shield on the door goes down, begin flying and use Magnetos super throw ability to quickly destroy the door, fly into the next room, do another super throw on the last door, and fly to the end of the level.

Video:

DEATH INCARNATE

Begin the level by flying forward into the main area where the enemies are, avoiding hitting the explosions and incoming shots by Desolators that will be coming your way. When you enter the main area, a Mauler should spawn in front of the electric wall; you are going to want to immediately super throw him into the electric wall, it should do continuous damage to him. Aerial grab the Desolators who spawn, and use Magnetos super attack combo as well as his aerial combos and super thrown objects to quickly defeat the Maulers (using Magneto's quick-throw ability as seen in Master of Magnetism, pressing the attack button right after the grab button, is very helpful as well). It is important during the first phase of this mission to make attempts at keeping the enemies from destroying the tank, as it is more useful in the second phase. Once the electric wall goes down, super grab the tank, and carry it over to the Obliterators that spawned on the other side and throw it at them, this can deal immense damage to them. Use similar tactics as before to kill the Maulers. When it is time to spawn and attack the final group of enemies composed of 2 Obliterators and a Mauler at the end of the level, grab a nearby dumpster and use it to quickly kill the Obliterators by throwing it at them. Once again, use similar tactics as before to kill the final Mauler.

Video:

POISONED STEEL

This level is a simple ring-out manipulation. Fly out over the chasm and Hazmat should follow you, if he does not, strike him once with a flying super attack and it should get his attention. Since Hazmat has a very good swinging ability, it may take him some time to ring-out. If this happens, you can aerial grab him to toss him directly into the ring-out plane.

Video:

#Paragon

DUEL OF MASTERS

Time for the final ring-out manipulation of the run. Magneto may attempt to fire his projectile at you, so once again you should attempt to teleport low so that he is inclined to follow you. Once again, if he is not getting the ring-out himself, you can aerial grab him to push him into the ring-out plane.

Video:

PARAGON'S REVENGE

Thanks to @PaulDSSB for this guide.

General Tips:

  • When you're prompted to enter RAGE, you can do it without sacrificing time! Simply make sure Paragon is facing left at least a little bit. You can use the camera, you can turn the character with the analog stick, whichever combination of the two. If you enter rage while facing left, you won't get a cutscene, so you can do it to your heart's content.

  • If you're overwhelmed, run away! Maulers can't really threaten you at long range and all projectiles will be much easier to reactively dodge. Charge up your energy and come back in.

  • If you're low on health, remember that your super grab heals you a tiny bit. If you're having trouble landing it, try attack->super grab to combo into it.

So when approaching this mission, there's technically only 4 rooms of enemies and within those 4 rooms, only 3 true mob packs. The reason is that this level makes use of staggered enemy spawns.

Pack 1:

You have 4 obliterators and 2 maulers. After skipping the cutscene, you'll be trapped behind a breakable wall with 3 explosive barrels. The 6 enemies are on the other side waiting for you. You can grab a barrel and throw it through the wall, after they break the wall for you, OR (my recommendation) use a attack->attack->super attack combo (just like we did in Maya's Dilemma) to break through the wall and cleave a set of enemies. You're going to want to use this combo a LOT in this level. However, since this pack has 4 obliterators, sometimes they all get trigger happy and spread out. In the event of this, you'll want to use [L] to teleport around and dodge the blasts. You can combine that with [L]+[A] to perform a teleport attack toward an enemy. Not only can this kill an obliterator, but it lets you take favorable engagements even when all 4 are shooting at you. Use this to thin out the shooters, then get back to cleaving with your attack->attack->super attack combo as soon as you can. If you're able to finish this pack far from where you start this mission, you should be able to pre-emptively spawn Pack 2 before the barrier comes down.

Pack 2:

2 Obliterators, 2 maulers, should be no excuse not to use your attack->attack->super attack combo on this group. But now you will run into the first wave of staggered spawns. Some point while you fight these 4 enemies, or after they're all dead, you'll get 1 more obliterator, then one more mauler, then another obliterator (behind the breakable pane in the barrier). Whatever works best for these! If multiple enemies are around, cleave them with the combo I keep mentioning. If only 1 enemy, you can use the combo, make use of objects, teleport+attack, or whatever you think is best. It's a good mission to try a multitude of tactics because maulers and obliterators hardly use their very fast attacks. So if they want to attack, you can stuff them out, and if they want to block, you can wait/grab.

Obliterator in the breakable wall:

An odd little goober. If you're near a barrel and can grab it before the enemy spawns in, throw it at them. Otherwise, jump + teleport + attack is an option, jump + falling attack is an option, and if you have spare energy: jump+super attack. All of these methods are good methods. This enemy might fumble a bit if it falls off the raised platform. But you can land down there and use stomps to finish it off.

Pack 3:

Obliterator+Mauler. Very easy duo, however they spawn right next to explosive barrels. If you have low health, consider using a super attack at range to take them out and blow up the barrels. This particular set of barrels is a nuisance and large hazard as this mission goes on from here. You can safely do a attack->attack->super attack combo on one of the enemies, the obliterator being easier, but if you're worried then take the safe approach at range (or wait for them to move to you). You can also throw barrels from the previous hallway section if it's convenient. During/after this duo, you will get 4 more maulers on staggered spawns. Everything I've said before stands. The cleave combo, the safer approaches, use of items, teleport attacks, etc. Be mindful of the spawns for that set of barrels. Maulers will spawn right next to them as you're trying to hit them and Paragon's attacks are disjointed enough to accidentally hit a barrel easily. It's recommended to watch your energy while fighting these last 4 maulers. Ideally you kill the last mauler and have at least 1/3 of your energy and/or RAGE mode.

Clone Room:

The easiest/fastest way to complete the mission is to wrap around the circular chamber counter-clockwise and use jump+super attack to spin-cut through each clone pod. This also keeps you from getting shot/exploded for the most part. If you're low on energy, too low to jump+super attack, use a jump+falling attack. The rising attack is very weak and takes at least 3 hits to do anything to a clone tank. But the falling attack hits harder and has a landing hitbox that can take out the tank and/or the barrel next to it. Be mindful if you're low on your health too. If you're low on energy and health, it might be a good idea to get out of the clone room altogether. By moving into the hallway, the enemies will be forced to chase you and reposition. and you can use this opportunity to charge up.

MEET YOUR MAKER

Congratulations! You have made it to the final confrontation with Niles Van Roekel, and if you followed these strats you probably made quick work of it! Unfortunately, Roekel is not always an easy foe. The absolute fastest way to complete this level is by performing Paragon's Death Combo into her finisher. The timer ends at the final input of the game, and so it is often an extremely good idea to perform the finisher in this level as the cutscene is untimed. If you cannot land the Death Combo on him, then some advice to defeat Roekel is to throw heavy objects at him, throw him into the electric walls to potentially cause serious damage, perform heavy hitting attacks of Paragon's, and at all costs keep him away from his healing pad, Paragon's super attack can be very useful for this.

This video shows an excellent performance of Paragon's Death Combo followed by a finisher on Roekel (video links to the proper attempt):

GG!

A big congratulations on beating Marvel Nemesis as fast as you could! It is a difficult game with lots of variables and factors at play, and inevitably relies on being good at the game and knowing what to do to get through as fast as possible. We hope this guide has helped with that! Speedrun1st
