I don't know if I am just unlucky or what, but I can never ever find a bastion off of nether spawn using e ray. I am using all 3 caffeine mods. In settings I have entity distance set to 500% and I have entity culling turned off. Any other settings I should mess with? or am I just unlucky?

You might need to increase render distance, as you can only e-ray bastians within your chunks. Even if you just turn up rd when e raying and then turn it down for performance is fine .

Make sure your render distance is set to 16, your fov is 30 ans your good

usually if there's 20-60 that means a bastion is nearby if its 15 or below, the bastion is far and reset

@acnnx my render distance is always set to 24 chunks.

@energy980 change it to 16, when eraying, its better

i can do eray but i have an intel hd graphics card 4000 and if i make my render dis. to 14 it begins to lag and sometimes crashed my game in the nether, usually i have a 60% chance i find a bastion during eray

if you are using sodium turn off entity culling and set entity distance to 500% edit: im dumb and didn't read the post try turning your render distence when you scan

it worked but i rather using vanilla it gives me more fps and i wanna be original, i always use F3+shift and so pie-ray for finding chest or magma spawners...

@Acnnx can you explain why 16 render distance is better? I know I see everyone using it for the nether, but zI never knew why.

Are you using the Sodium version with planar fogs option (it's in the unofficial tab)? This allows you to see a little farther with max FOV in the corners. This option is allowed.

@Roytaro64 I am not using that version. I did watch a video that said to turn it on or whatever.
