Hello. I'd like to get into Minecraft Speedrunning, however, I cannot find a user-friendly timer that works.
I am planning to speedrun Minecraft 1.6.4 on Java 1.8.0 using Windows 8.1. I've tried Cbenni's In-Game timer for 1.6.4 and before, however that doesn't seem to work. I cannot see it while playing, and the timer never starts. I've tried deleting the stats folder and other recommended actions, but it doesn't work.
I would like to use LiveSplit, but I have basically no programming experience and I cannot figure out how to make it automatically start upon world load and stop upon end credits, let alone all the splits.
Is there a user-friendly guide to setting up LiveSplit to automatically split for Minecraft? If not, is there an easy to use mod/program that I could install that could keep track of the time automatically?
There is a way to get in-game time from LiveSplit.
Go to Edit Splits, change game name to "Minecraft". Game time should be available for 1.6.4 so activate it. Then edit your layout so that everything should be showing in-game time.
If you have any questions please ask.
It still doesn't seem to work. I've set the game to Minecraft, activated game time, and set my timer to display game time. Is there something I'm missing?
Alright then it may be some sort of bug, I'm not entirely sure. It isn't 100% automatic, you have to start and end time manually, but since it's in-game time it will be very precise anyway and you don't have to be exact with starting/stopping the time. If no In-game timer is working, then you can just submit real time but it will take longer for a moderator to verify because we'll have to get the In game time for ourselves. Or you can manually time it with some sort of video editing software.
Alright. Is there an alternative timer I could use, preferably one that starts automatically?
Unfortunately I don't think there is other than CBenni's timer, and I'm not entirely sure why it's not working for you.
Go to your stats folder, and make sure that stats_¤username¤_unsent.dat is the top file, alphabetically.
Hello I just got live split and need a little bit of help, I selected the game minecraft in splits editor, but dont know what to do from then. btw i want to run set seed glitchless.
What more do you wan to do? Do you want to add the splits? Really all you need to do is just get the seed, start up the world, start the timer, and go. You can look up a tutorial on how to add splits/edit the timer/layout, but as long as you have livesplit, that's all you need to run ssg. (That and record it).
So i am trying to use livesplit for a set speed glitchless speed run how to i add ingame time to my livesplit
how do i make it so that i can press a key in minecraft and it splits? btw Im doing SSG any%
@Ascipy32 Assuming you're using livesplit, right click, go into settings and change your split hotkey
