"all I can read is this doesn't seem notable"
Well, I'm gonna take a quick guess and say that the game you submitted isn't notable, and that's why it got rejected. As it says on the game submission page: "At this time, we are not adding the following: Visual novels, short/trivial flash games, non-video game activities."
I don't know what game you requested, but based on that message I'm gonna guess that it's either short or trivial as a speed game.
As it says on the Change Username page, you're not able to change your username for 60 days (I guess it's 59 now since you did it yesterday). Site admins might still be able to change it for you, but I'm not sure if they will since that would kind of defeat the purpose of having a cooldown.
@Scypher Usually one of the site admins makes a post in here covering any requests about once a week. Their last post was 8 days ago, so they should be going over everything relatively soon.
@byt3weeks Three of the moderators have been online today, and all of them have been online in the last week, so you should discuss it with them. This thread is a last resort for if current moderators are inactive and can't be contacted.
Also, it doesn't really matter how active you are on Discord if you don't have any social media links on your profile.
@SickMyDuck The current mod has only been offline for about two weeks. Have you tried contacting them at all?
@Altha While I understand where you're coming from with that, the moderator isn't inactive (they've been online in the last two weeks), so it's better to just discuss the problem with them rather than bringing it here. A few days isn't a very long time, not everyone's able to constantly check their social media or the site. If another week goes by and they haven't responded to you or logged in at all then I'd say it's fair game, since then the mod will have been offline for 3 weeks and is then considered inactive.
Generally speaking, if a moderator is inactive then you should follow @Tron_Javolta 's advice and attempt to contact them through one of the social media links on their profile. If they don't have social media links or are unresponsive after a reasonable amount of time, you can use this thread to request the site mods to make you a moderator: https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7
Just make sure you read the original post of that thread before posting in it.
You can already see the world record progression in the statistics tab, so I don't think a date filter is really necessary for that purpose.
At the very bottom of the filter bar on the left you can filter the results to only show followed games.
If someone really wanted to and had a run of it I guess it could be made into a misc category, although with proper strats it would be like a 6 minute run with basically no room for improvement so I don't think it would be a very interesting category.
My bad, was thinking of something else entirely. Ignore me.
@Crankthatsnes That should probably just fall under "Web".
Edit: Nevermind, ignore me.
From what I can see, the game has been up on the site for only one day. Unless you're a brand new Nintendo game you aren't going to magically get a speedrunning community in one day. Also, I'd make sure you set up everything properly before trying to get other people into it (I don't know what you did or were trying to do with the full game leaderboard, but you should get that fixed ASAP).
Even those aside though, all you can really do is run the game yourself, and show it around to people that might be interested. Other than that there's not really much you can do. If people aren't interested in running the game, they're not gonna run the game. It's unfortunate, but not every game is going to be a good or popular speed game.
You can already figure out the most recent run or post by looking at their list of runs or forum posts respectively (since forum posts are sorted from newest to oldest, and runs are sorted by game from newest to old). As for donations, you can see that by hovering over the user's donator icon (assuming they have one, if they don't then I guess there's no way to tell).
@EduardoRN Have you talked to the SF series mods? Some of them were online earlier today, so inactivity isn't an issue.
@Mist Ask one of the series mods (most of them have been online in the last day). This thread is a last resort for if current mods are inactive and can't be contacted.
@FunkyCatGames Go into the forums for whatever game you want to be a mod for and ask there. If there's no response after a reasonable amount of time (like maybe a week or two), try reaching out to the current mods through their social media links.
If the mods are offline for 3+ weeks and you aren't able to contact them, then you can come back here and explain the situation, and the site mods will handle it.
Another thing, you should submit a full run of the game you want to mod before asking to be a mod for it.
@EchoRoblox I believe this thread is what you're looking for: https://www.speedrun.com/roblox/thread/0s0ct
@teddyras I wasn't claiming to be an admin or forcing them to do anything, I was just trying to get more information about the situation to make sure there isn't something else they could do to help themselves, and to make it easier for the admins to handle the situation. Not really sure why you saw a problem with that.
I don't see why there's a big fuss about this. If you want to call your categories something other than Any% then that's up to you, but there's really no problem with it. The real place where a category is going to be clearly defined for that specific game is going to be in the rules anyway, the category name is just a shorthand for that ruleset. As long as your category name actually matches the rules (i.e. your 100% category isn't called "beat half the game"), it doesn't really matter what the name is.
@death_unites_us One of them was online 2 days ago, and the other was online 10 days ago. How long ago did you submit your runs, and how long have you waited since trying to contact them?
