Unfortunately I'd be surprised if the gem ever comes an item that Indy can interact with. But one has to appreciate just how many tricks and things this game has to offer. We're still discovering stuff after so long.
I wonder if there are differences in the speed of dialogue in different languages... For example, is the german dub faster then the English version?
No that's something we discussed at some point. This game isn't like, say, Pokémon where all the text is written and language makes a difference in the number of written characters to load. Infernal Machine is more like a film, and I haven't timed it, but I'm fairly certain the cutscenes are always exactly of the same length. We could test it to make sure, though. That I know of, we could currently test on the English, French, and German versions.
Does it really save time? I mean, the cutscene still plays, Indy's just already on the other side when it does. Pretty cool jump in any case :)
You'll have to explain what that expansion pak is because I have no idea what's going on here o.0 Is that pak specific to this game or is that a general N64 thing? I never had one so I don't really know how that works.
Hey guys, I just want to share an alternative skip to the elevator at the beginning in Babylon. It's possible to jump directly up to the elevator. I've still got my problems with the morph jump and this skip is easier for me and it's even a bit faster. After a view tries I can get it done constantly. So here's a video:
Here is a somewhat consistent way to skip the electric ball in Nub's Tomb. (Info in description)
I tried many spots too. Sometimes it was just a pixel off and.. dead. Hopefully this one is more forgiving. :)
To defeat the ice guardian in the "Shambala sanctuary" level you have to move this block in order to proceed. Thing is, I knew it was possible to move it out of the way, but I had a feeling it would take too long. Turns out it doesn't take too long, you just need to crawl to the wall. It should be slightly faster.
@Bluescreen18 I timed it and it's barely a few seconds faster than going the normal way, if at all. However, it is much easier since you avoid having to do a couple of potentially nerve-wrecking jumps.
It is a very nice find though, I wonder if there are any other places where it could be used.
Ok, i found 2 new ways to do this skip. Here is one:
and here is another (the fastest one)
The fastest version is very hard to pull off with 20 fps.
I don't think there are any other places where this glitch will truly come in handy except maybe in Palawan volcano level with all the blocks in the way. I have the feeling it won't save time tho.
I've been able to do the fastest way very often. Not always first try but it's easy to save scum it. This way it's definitely faster and a full fledged skip.
