And also you're going to do the fast 4-2 which is clipping to the block in the start of the level or 2 bump jump which is harder than the clip and also doing the fpg (flagpole glitch) on world 8-3
Someone made a graphic in a forum post of all the things required for the ultimate time, mid 4:55 seems to be the limit.
https://www.speedrun.com/smb1/thread/su6e8 (at bottom of thread).
Lol easily. 1-2 clip is pretty dang hard, and the warpzone is also hard. Definitely harder than any of the other tricks excluding PL8-1.
it's easily humanly possible, not meaning it's any easy.
the theoretical human limit i believe is 4m55s6~~ms i cant remember exactly but its something in the 600ms range
StuckInAPlate has saved the framerule with FPG in 8-1. It requires a perfect fast accel at the beginning of the level to save 2 frames and then a perfect Mavpole to save the total 21 frames required.
Per Bismuth's awesome video, sum of Human Bests is 4:55.230 (after the 8-1 framerule achieved by StuckInAPlate as mentioned above). Human Theory is 5 frames (0.083) faster than that at 4:55.147.
For under 4:56, someone needs 1 framerule better than somewes, or to run the same framerule but 15 frames faster in 8-4.
(By all accounts, the 1 framerule (likely 1-2 wall clip) is more achievable than the 15 frames faster in 8-4.)
Somewes recently started 8-1 at a 4:55 pace but died to the Parana Plant Pipe-Jump Thingy
@Sewiferos are you sure about that There is a solid limit on how fast we can go. We may never be truly sure on what the limit is. 4:54 may be the limit, or it may not be. 4:53 may or may not be possible.
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
- The run's full session must be included in the submission description.
- For emulator runs below 4:57.000, some form of input display must be visible for the duration of the run. A hand-cam or input
