The chances of getting a set seed in a random seed is extremely low and maybe even impossible due to Java having over 18 quintillion seeds... It may be more likely for Bedrock as MCBE has over 4 billion which is still more than it would be possible, and anyways if a runner got that it would kill RSG and no one would really count it as the true RSG wr but yeah
@R4ND0M_M3L0 Hate to break it to you but if something is possible, there is a chance that will happen.
U don't need to know the logistics behind why some seeds aren't able to be generated randomly, just know that for some reason, it exists. U can search the Minecraft wiki to learn why or how Minecraft is like that, but the fact remains that it exists. Basically, out of the 2^48 seeds there are in Minecraft, idk the exact number, but only 2^30 something are able to be randomly generated. The other seeds can only be obtained through seed input, in which the ssg seeds are found.
Again, u don't need to know the logic behind why Minecraft works this way.... just know that this is what happens. U can search this up on the wiki or something.
@strawby The "there are no set seeds that can randomly generate known, i believe." is... impossible, to say the least. If you go and randomly generate a world, then use that seed and train for ssg then get it for rsg ti is possible to happen.
yes, but i meant set seeds that are specifically picked for ssg. i think that was pretty obvious
Jesus christ y'all not to be rude but what do you think would happen? They would get a really good time. Can this thread die already?
Y'all are a little wrong though. It's not a 1 in 1073741824 (2^30) event. It's a 1000+ in 1073741824 which takes a few zeros off the number and actually makes it roughly 1 in 1 million, and that's not nearly as crazy.
Why 1000+? Because you are all assuming "1" run; but a speedrunner doesn't have only 1 run. In other words this is not a mutually exclusive pick every time a seed is generated, the chance is going to be based on all previously seen seeds.
Committed speedrunners can be playing anywhere from 50-100 seeds a day, which means within a week or two they'll have seen over 1000 different seeds, 10000 in a month, and now we're talking high odds they will replay a seed. Put another way, if a speedrunner played 100 seeds a day for a year straight, they will have seen 0.003% of all available seeds. That's a tiny percent, but in terms of odds, that's now very much in the "possible" territory.
Will they remember the seed and post a better time? That's a valid question (the answer is likely "no"), but are there speedrunners who have replayed the same seed? It's actually very likely this has happened not just once, but quite a few times before.
Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's at all feasible or realistic. This is basic statistics and probability.
theres no way a random seed speedrunner would get a set seed world, unless..................
