This is amazing, it looks so clean and crisp, I’m loving it. Amazing work over the last year to get this all worked on and updated.

I can’t suggest anything until you tell me your budget.

If you want good, solid quality always go internal but that will be around $150 or so. Something like an Elgato HD60s. There’s also similar models that are USB from Elgato.

If you want cheaper than that, maybe a low end Avermedia.

I use a Magewell HDMI Capture Plus, but that's $300+.

Define not so expensive.

You’re not going to get a capture card for less than $150 or so if you want it to be decent quality. You can maybe get closer to $100, but the quality of the capture card gets lesser.

For what it’s worth, XSplit can record locally, the same way OBS can (you just wont get 60fps without paying for a subscription), so if you insist OBS crashes, just go back to using XSplit and record locally, not stream.

This has been brought up before and yeah, HDK is right. The three fastest times (place 1, 2 and 3) are all 5.57, so they’re part of a tie. Just because someone later on has say a 5.59 doesn’t mean they automatically get second place because it’s not second place. Second place was a 5.57 and it just so happened that that was a tie for first. Same goes for third.

Delete them one by one.

I can’t think of why you’d want to do this, but the only way is one at a time, there is no bulk delete function (unless maybe you write something to do it though the API if the API even supports deletion of runs).

That Barney category doesn’t have 100 competitors so I’m not sure that would fit the requirements for this hopefully immaculate lunch.

But it did get me thinking about Dragster for 5.57. Game has over 100 competitors and with less time and practice than another more intricate game, tying the WR shouldn’t be too time consuming.

If you go to submit a run, you’ll notice on the form it says “Emulators are banned” when you get to the section of inputting your console.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “the resolution is too small”, but I’m pretty sure your issue is that PS1 games, even when played on a PS2, are in 240p. The LGX only supports 480i/480p and up from what I know, so that’s why you’re not going to see anything.

That being said, how are you connecting the PS2 to the LGX? If my memory serves me, the LGX only has HDMI input (maybe component?) so that would imply you’re using some kind of upscaler if it doesn't have component. If so, what upscaler are you using? Most of them, even the RetroTink-2x should output at minimum 480p which should mean you’ll have no issues. So, the issue might be there or might be with how you’re connecting to the LGX. So some more details there might help.

You can always check with the community to make sure you play on the fastest version of that’s your concern (I know of some PS1 games that are fastest on the PSTV for example). Just kinda an extra check before you invest money in something like that.

Ask the mods of the game, but under most circumstances you can create additional save files during the course of a run to do whatever you need to do (Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess do this with the Back in Time Glitch). Using pre made files to do something is a more gray area and is handled differently depending on game and community.

In short, always check with the mods of the game. They’ll be able to tell you for sure.

If you’re asking if you can run a PS1 game on a PS1, then the answer is yes, although I wouldn’t recommend you do so. Playing PS1 games is usually much faster on a PS2 using Fast Disc speed. I would always recommend doing that if you can.

If you don’t have a PS2 for whatever reason, you can still use a regular PS1, just ask the mods of the game to add the platform (it should be there as PS).

There are tons of third party consoles that play NES and SNES games off their real cartridges (like the Retron 2), and they are considered emulation because it's not first party hardware/software. Additionally, they are almost always slower as they couldn't match the frame rate of the regular consoles.

It's just similar to dumping a ROM off an N64 cart but using something like Mupen to play it - it's technically playing an official game (just without the plastic cartridge), but it's still emulation since it's not official stuff being using to play it. But this is why something like an N64 Everdrive isn't considered emulation, because you're still using the original, first party hardware/software to play the games.
