When I click on "submit run," I'd love for the edit-run page to correspond to the sub-category I have selected. This currently works for categories.
For instance: https://www.speedrun.com/cb#100 If I'm looking at Winda 100% runs, my edit-run page should correspond to that (whereas it defaults to Marda 100%).
Thanks!
Edit 07/27/2023: OMG you guys did it, nice! Thanks for adding this feature!
Hey @Mewsh! I wanted to check to see if you were still actively moderating this leaderboard. The Mobile Speedrunning Discord is thinking of hosting a competition with this game :D

Also, you can join the mobile speedrunning discord! We have an awesome collection of users who love running mobile games and can help you find resources/new games. https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
If you need any resources for anything in mobile speedrunning (audio, video, timing), join the mobile speedrunning Discord! We can help you out! https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
On Samsung S7, I use the native recording app, Game Screen Recorder, or DU Recorder to record my games. Each has its perks. For the timer, I use a simple app called Floating Speedrun Timer. It can get in the way of your playing, so make sure its in a good spot before you start recording.
On Amazon Kindle, I use SmartPixel to record, upload to Facebook, download, and add a timer in a video editing software called ShotCut. I'm not sure if this specific game is on that device, though.
If you have a different way of recording and timing, please share!
Here's what I tell everyone in the mobile speedrunning community: Audio is required for a few reasons:
- main reason: It allows us to check for splicing to detect cheating. For instance, we were able to detect a fake run in cat bird using audio and visual cues.
- It's a speedrunning standard (most speedruns have audio).
- If everyone follows the same rules, nobody gets confused.
- Entertainment value.
- Audio recording is very easy on mobile, so there's no reason not to do it. (The mobile speedrunning discord has a huge resource list we give to new runners)
Same for web and PC games, audio is very easy to record with the right resources. The only times I've changed rules for audio involve player specific issues (old phone models, only time to record is in public spaces). As for console games, my opinion is that audio should be recorded. I'm not sure how easy it is to do, so I don't mod those games.
Hey @Dogonabox420, I recommend joining the Mobile Speedrunning Discord and reading over the #start-here channel! I've listed a ton of resources there. If you still have questions, just ask in #general!

Cool! Doesn't work on my Samsung S7, but maybe other phones will have this feature :)
Welcome to runner @gamesfordalolz, thanks for donating a ton of rice!

Actually, to make timing more fair, I added this to the rules: Timing begins on the first hop (score of 0).
If anyone challenges their previous timing based on this clarification, we can retime it. If anyone wants to take on the mission of retiming every video with this rule, I will gladly let you step in :)
Yep, let me double check that for ya :) If you find any other runs that need retiming, let me know.
I care what a million viewers will think about the community -- Honestly I'm hoping one of our own YouTubers like EZScape responds to him. But I guess it doesn't matter much, you're right :D
I like Pewds, but he seems to be using old videos and highlighting the cringe that speedrunning started with. I think that side of speedrunning has changed, but clearly those who may not know much about speedrunning still see it this way.
What do y'all think about the video?
Ahh that makes sense @ROMaster2, thanks. Another idea: I know commenting on runs isn't going to happen any time soon, but what about dropping likes?
The only down side to it would be loading and displaying runs with over 100+ likes. It might be good to start a count, list the first hundred names, and then say "and X amount of other runners like this run"
Edit 7 months later, October 2018: Thanks for implementing "and X others" for likes on srcom. Still hoping to see this under individual runs!
I'm excited to welcome runners @Genii and @buckethead222 to the crew! Hope to see more of your runs soon!
Please consider making each point on the statistics graph link to WR runs. Since you're already grabbing details from the run to display on the graph, I know this won't be too hard to implement.
Edit November 2019: Thanks for adding this feature!
