Spyro: Year of the Dragon "117%" in 3:24:18 by AlexDest http://www.speedrun.com/run/7z0601jz

Wow, I'm impressed. This game has grown as a speedgame tremendously in the last year. On April 24, 2014 I set the record for this category at 3:32:09. It wasn't beat for a long time, until SSBMstuff got the first ever sub 3:30! Since then, a few new runners to the category started working on it and all of a sudden, just yesterday, the first sub 3:25 happened! AlexDest has a history of running games from the Spyro PSX trilogy. First of all, he is incredibly consistent and next to everything. He is very well versed in each of the three games, holding 3rd in Spyro 1 120%, 1st in Spyro 2 100%, and now 1st in Spyro 3 117% (as of 9/10/15)! If you are looking to watch somebody complete these games quickly, finishing runs often, this is the guy to watch. He's incredibly entertaining, has an easy-on-the-eyes stream layout, and has a chill voice. He's a very lovely person and a close friend of mine. He has optimized Spyro 2 100% farther than anybody else could ever dream of, could he do the same for this category? Will sub 3:15 ever happen? Stay tuned, he could be doing more runs!

Banjo-Tooie "100%" in 4:23:30 by Pjii http://www.speedrun.com/run/emk7w23y

HA! You thought I was going to talk about Cheese05's 1:40:51 120 Star here? Think again! Banjo-Tooie is a game that Pjii has been working on for years (he started in 2011). With that much time put into this one game, and yes, this is the ONLY game he speedruns, surely he must be the best? Yes, he is. He holds the record for ALL of the main categories, and by quite a lot. He's extremely consistent, dedicated, and hard-working. With every new thing that is found, he goes back to every category to improve his time, even if it's by just a couple seconds. If you are interested in Banjo-Tooie, watch this guy! It's amazing to see a game played this well. I have rarely seen him reset on making a mistake, it's usually due to RNG. There are no more words I can use to describe how incredible it is to watch him. He's not only a speedrunner, but an artist as well.

Slylobsterr, it's all in the first post! It can be any game, but I want to keep it as varied as possible.

Pokémon Sapphire "Any%" in 2:05:22 by G_Heinz http://www.speedrun.com/run/emk7o1xy

Here is an amazing speedrun of Pokémon Sapphire. In this particular game, for a good run, you must first reset over and over for a good starter Pokémon. "Good" in this case is labeled at the bottom right of his stream, thankfully. Getting the correct Mudkip is the first part, but it surely is not the last. From there, you have to rely on RNG for next to everything: wild Pokémon encounters, critical hits, finding your Abra, catching your Abra, and those pesky spinners! If you have never seen a speedrun of a Pokémon game, this is surely one place to start. Pokémon Sapphire was one of my personal favorite Pokémon games when I was younger (I'd say second to Pokémon LeafGreen) so it's truly amazing to me to see a game I love beaten so quickly, something I don't think I will ever have the patience to do. You know your speedgame is optimized when it's over 2 hours long and you're only getting a PB by 39 seconds!

上下針祭り500! "Any%" in 5:50 by Maxinator235 http://www.speedrun.com/run/pm3nw96y

This is a speedrun of an I Wanna Be The Guy fangame titled "上下針祭り500!" This translates to "Up And Down Needle Festival 500!" If you are unfamiliar with what IWBTG fangames are, all you need to know in this case is that the jump that he has to do 500 times is called a "gate jump". The jump is quite simple, however the time window that you are required to jump for is 2 frames, meaning he has to hold the shift key for a certain number of frames each time. If he holds it for a frame too short, he'll jump into the bottom spike, a frame too long and he'll hit the top spike. He has 1/25 of a second to let go of the shift key basically. As if this wasn't hard enough, he played on Impossible mode. On Medium mode, you get a save point every 10 gate jumps. On Hard, it's every 50. On Very Hard, it's every 100. On Impossible mode, you don't get any saves at all. He did 500 of these jumps in a row without hesitation. This run is truly a work of art. I will be shocked if this is a run that gets beat. I've never seen anybody so consistent at anything in my life. Think this looks easy? Here's a DL link: http://delicious-fruit.com/ratings/game_details.php?id=11830 Good luck.

Hey all, it's Jumpyluff. This is just an idea that I had. I could do this in a blog or whatever, but as this is a speedrun site, I'd like to do it here instead.

I want to start posting one run in here daily. I will write up a little thing about the run, link the run on speedrun.com, and the video as well. If I do end up going through with this, I will post one run from the previous day, just in case a run happens quite late. Also, anything that I say about the run is likely opinion-based. I can't speak for everybody when I write these. Don't be offended if I don't pick your run, there are so many speedruns every day! I want to try to mix this up as much as possible. I don't want to include runs from the same runner, the same game, etc. I will eventually, but I want them to be spread out quite a lot. I will obviously exclude any of my own speedruns from this list as that is not the aim of this thread.

Just a bit about myself: I am a speedrunner who has loved this hobby every day since 2013. I prefer to reach out to hundreds of games rather than sticking to one or two (though I have been settling down quite a bit recently). As of today (9/7/15) I have done speedruns of 437 categories in around 270 games. I started off speedrunning Spyro 2 and Jak II, then quickly branched out to Crash Bandicoot games, Super Monkey Ball games, IWBTG Fangames, flash games, and everything else under the sun. Here is an up-to-date sheet with every speedrun I've done: http://goo.gl/R9ZOGZ

If this thread doesn't work out the way I imagine it right now, I'll probably remove my posts as I don't want to embarrass myself. This is just my way of being just a bit more involved in the community, as I feel like I've been drifting recently. So go ahead and hit play on that video and start reading!

It's labeled as a Wii U VC run though. I guess if it does bother you that much, you could always change the view to show only a certain console.

welp, since this still isn't a thing, let's all stay here http://www.cyberscore.me.uk/game/410

If we are going to customize the page, I'd want it to be for the series. I can make you a series mod, but I would like you to have just one time of FR1 up, if that's alright? If you can do that, I'd be more than happy to add you to the team.

Yes I will come back. I will always come back.

This is going to sound super weird, but I'm going to make a request on somebody else's behalf

Maxinator235 speedruns I Wanna Be The Guy fangames. He made an account, but is unwilling to use it because of the account name. He would like it changed from Maxcraig235 to Maxinator235. There are currently runs on this site under "Maxinator235", so is there a way we can associate his new name with the current runs? I assume if they were named under Maxcraig235, the names would all transfer, but I feel like this is a special case.

He's not too familiar with the site, and I doubt he'd go out of his way to post this in the forum, so if you would like to confirm this with him, his Twitch channel is linked on his Maxcraig235 profile, or it is here: twitch.tv/maxinator235

Thanks, you have no idea how much this would help the IWBTGFG mods.

That's a good idea. It's already somewhat implemented in the Level Leaderboard, which is strange. This is definitely something that should be considered.

I'm entirely with Grig on this. Savestates should never be a part of speedrunning outside of practice's sake, which isn't a thing in Yu Gi Oh as far as I'm aware.
