It's also not rocket science to delete posts. As I said, if there's a serious spam issue it's better to get the site mods/admins involved since they have far better tools for dealing with it (and they can also see firsthand the spam so they can ban the users involved).
Just because something is locked doesn't mean it needs to be deleted.
No, because some people use locked posts as stickies. I believe supers can still delete posts for that game, and so they should be able to remove it. If it's obviously spammy you should report the account and then the site mods will take care of it. If you don't have an active super you should fix that problem first.
If you do a route that includes making a BiT Save at the very beginning, Link and Epona's names default to Link and Epona anyway, so it doesn't matter at all what you name them at the beginning since they get set to Link/Epona regardless.
If you are doing a route that does not include a BiT Save at the very beginning, you can set their name to whatever you want. I believe that every instance of using Link or Epona's name is "fast text" which can be mashed through completely regardless of length, so I don't believe it matters.
The only reason text language matters at all is for the handful of "slow text" that can't be mashed through, and as far as I can remember, none of those "slow text" boxes include Link or Epona's name.
EDIT (courtesy of information from Devil6Lair and Dragonbane0): In 100% there are two "slow text" boxes that use Epona's name. "Slow" text in TP is shown at 2 characters per frame, so this can lose, at most, 6 frames from name length. Incredibly minor but it does exist.

Notes: Switch VC does not appear to be out yet but I cannot find a confirmation in either direction. There's a discussion on this naming concept here: https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/ooitt Ed's post apparently was deleted, but the request may still be valid. Account believes to be deleted as well but I have no way of confirming this. TG-16CD is in fact separate from TG-16, as per @sYn 's post on May 07 2018 later on this page. PS2 HDD is interesting as not every game supports it, so it may be misused, but for games that support it it is very relevant due to loading times from installed games. There are other requests in this thread that were made but I do not believe are valid. I've listed them below for completeness's sake.
Other Requests (Platforms): Jan 16 2018: @Ewil - Apple II GS ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_IIGS ) - per @NihilistComedyHour falls under Apple II

"Please keep in mind that using this thread is a last resort, in case the current moderators are not responding or refusing your help without justification. You should always start by asking the Super mods of a game/series as they are also able to add mods. Best way to contact game mods is probably through Twitter for now. Also try the game forums, many users get notifications when threads are created for games they follow.
Moderator inactivity doesn't apply until around 3 weeks, depending on other circumstances, and it is expected that you try to contact them (exceptions may be made if they have been offline ~3+ months.) " @Dipper12359
The ideal way and the one you're supposed to do is to contact the mods for that game. Supers can add/remove mods. Only if you can't get in contact with them are you supposed to come here.
@Worsel5 ask MLSTRM. If he can't do it himself or get in touch with the current super mods, then he should post here and ask for promotion to super to be able to add mods as he pleases.
@Kendawg86 Kirkq responded six days ago, I'll quote it for you here:
Kendawg86: Please discuss it with the mods. They were around to add Dynasty Warriors 9 apparently. I'd recommend suggesting categories more specifically on the game's forums.
If you were aware of that and already did that, I don't know as I have not yet checked, and I apologise for repeating Kirkq in that case.
I simply wanted to respond to this and inform you folks that said user (which has since deleted their account) is continuing to stir up drama with this pastebin. https://pastebin.com/wyjmUBPG
Firstly, if you want the change and he doesn't, why don't you talk with him and see why he doesn't want that change instead of coming here and trying to get him demoted? That's moderation 102.
As to your point about a super and him being normal, you've already said you intend to demote him to verifier earlier, so don't try and pull that bullshit. Don't even fucking try it.
"Tron_Javolta Feb 17 2018, 13:23:12
I think they want that person demoted to regular mod to be able to remove them entirely ? removing a mod with extra steps"
"Slevanas Feb 17 2018, 14:58:19
Exactly Tron, and stick to them being verify mod."
We're not idiots.
I show respect for people that show others respect. By coming here behind his back you aren't showing him respect, so why should I show you any in regards to you not showing him any?
As a runner of this game, knowing how different this game is compared to most Metroids, I am unsure how I feel about non-runners having moderation powers on these boards, and would personally prefer those who have run or currently run the game to hold such positions. This game is incredibly different from every other Metroid game, is generally viewed as a slight on the franchise as a whole, and is not respected. We, the community, are incredibly far off most other Metroid communities. I feel the moderators should thus be from the Other M community and not from the general Metroid running community.
In effect, I would prefer @Mr_Shasta and @Skull64 to not be moderators of this game in any form. This is not a personal slight, but simply because they have not done a run of this game and are not part of this game's community. This would leave @Dyceron as super, along with @electricyellow and @JaggerG as moderators, which is still a number of moderators sufficient for the game.
DCR, while having not done a run recently, is not inactive and is still part of the community. Jagger has a long history with this game and while having not run in a few years, is still a trusted member of the community. EY is a semi-active runner that is still very active in the community. Perhaps due to their activity and honors I might suggest a bump to super (to avoid issues if DCR would become inactive).
As a final note this is absolutely not a slight against Shasta or Skull. I think they are fine individuals and they haven't (as far as I can tell) caused us problems in the past. But given this game's history, I, as a runner, would prefer the moderators of this game to be runners or ex-runners, as they know the game better than those who have not.
@Slevanas if anything I would demote you to verifier or remove you entirely. Just because you two disagree on the naming of a category is not a reason for you to be extremely petty and go behind the other person's back to get them demoted. That is just bullshit dude, grow the hell up, work with the other person, and come to an agreement. Holy shit man.
Depends on circumstances. I don't know for Prime 1, but for TP, most of the video can be watched at double speed with little issues (slowing down to normal rate for some tricks).
I'm going to say this as a moderator of a different game (Twilight Princess), with runs a fair bit longer than the average Prime 1 run. I at least have always preferred to watch the run in its entirety, regardless of length, as only then can I be sure the run is legitimate. Not all of us are like that; some of us do not watch the entire run but skim through it. At the end of the day, though, as long as runs are being correctly verified or rejected how it is done is ultimately up to the moderator doing so, and if moderators disagree on the validity of a run, it should be discussed amoung them (possibly with the runner who submitted as well).
In regards to runs being verified in a timeframe that indicates the run was not fully watched, most video sites support playback at double speed, so keep that in mind - the run may have been watched through completely, but faster than innate speed. It does not automatically mean the run was not watched in its entirety.
