Example, if the record is 10 minutes, then an emulator run will not be accepted if it's 11 minutes or faster (10 minutes + 10% x (wr 10 minutes) = 11 minutes)
So emulator runs are fine, but once you get too fast (10% of the record) it won't be accepted. (If that makes sense)
I didn't set up the server (and didn't use it), so I can only assume Sizzyl had created it.
I'm also interested in the technical aspect regarding timing (and kind the difficulty of clips vs old versions).
I'm fine with a discord server, though this game is very quiet for runners XD
You can block off the town gate (requires 2 tiles to be occupied) that goes towards the monsters (north side) that almost always traps the adventurers inside/outside the town. If they are stuck outside they can only fight. If they are stuck inside they can only spend money/train.
This can help speed up certain activities (mostly just earning money) since adventurers inside the town will constantly spend money.
Sure, I'll look at the run(s) once submitted. As far as being a mod, that sounds fine though I'm not sure how much actually need sprucing up. =P
Don't get me wrong, for most types of games I prefer the RTA (that I've played), it's just as a person that would only do some runs of them game (no seriousness to aim for a top time), knowing that my cartridge is at a disadvantage just makes me consider to not bother with attempts (in my own opinion).
$60 isn't much, but doing "only 60" for the game also applies to other games as well. Such as today, I was considering a famicon or famicon classic. Paid a lot more for the old version simply for the load times. If I bought the classic thinking it was okay, well I'd have to invest twice (say like with other games). It just adds up if you like to try multiple different games.
"I'd also like to note that the digital version which is the fastest version of the game isn't hard to buy." Isn't hard to buy, but it is another $60 for those that happened to buy physical on habit. Easy, but doubling the price for some people (myself included).
So if you want to have more "inclusive" runs, doing IGT is better. Knowing that I have to buy another copy of the game (to compete with others) makes me simply content not trying to beat the top times. Just my opinion as a cartridge (and slow) and plain bad MK8D runner XD
Yeah, I was debating if there should be categories for 1, 2, 3, or 4 stars but I didn't want to add categories that might be redundant.
But considering there is more than just me interested, I'll throw it on XD
I'm still fairly new to speedrunning, and was wondering how long it can take for a run to be verified. I submitted a few runs 7 days ago and the two moderators have not logged in 9 days for one and +1 month for the other.
Guessing I just have to be patient and wait it out until one eventually logs on?
