Java or Bedrock?
I'll give you a hint: there are almost 4x more active players speedrunning Java.
I would prefer Java Edition, I only play Bedrock for servers and friends, not for speedrunning. Personally i like Java more to speedrun
if you are talking about rsg you can reset for stronghold villages, and you can enter nether from portal room lava, thats much faster than java, but its rng based and it makes rsg in bedrock bad in java you can have more common lava pools (in bedrock, lava pools dont become common in deserts), but strongholds are guranteed to be at least 900 blocks away from your spawn or even further
