I know quite a little to how to retime a run but I don't know how speedrunners who use an console (ex. Darbian,Kosmic, somewes) know their time and their exact frame.

You can find the timing resources on the resources page: https://www.speedrun.com/smb1/resources

A lot of people use the newer spreadsheet, but I still use the screenshots and do the math as it has more patterns, especially for runs in the 5:00-5:03 range.

I've been meaning to make a video tutorial explaining all of this as a lot of people don't understand it that well.

None of those three use an emulator - they're all original console NES

Based on the title I think he meant console.
