Is the run legitimate or fake? Like, is a savestate to title screen ok? There is no reset in the video?
Aldyn got a 458 and doesn't want to admit it
I hereby withdraw all my runs so I can be the first to get 456 with no previous prior PBs
Looks like a reset. The gray screen seems to match up with what I get on a real NES cart on real hardware.
If you're wondering why it is a link to a site and not a Twitch VOD or anything: He deleted his VOD. He just doesn't want people to know he has a 4:58. Luckily, I downloaded it beforehand. If you want the full VOD:
I agree it looks like a reset,
but the stance of this board is that they wont accept runs unless the runner wants to submit it.
So aldyn is clear on his quest to be 459 to 456 since he doesn't want to submit it. His best time, per this board, is a 459 and that will stand that way now and forever going forward until aldyn gets a 456.
My point is...kosmic could withdraw all his runs today and be the first to 455 on his 9th run of all time, with no previous times ever.
Instead of resetting, I used a savestate to get to the game selection screen You can see the difference by looking at the difference between a reset and a savestate (which you can see by looking just before the run) I very quickly made a savestate right after resetting Please some moderator say this run is fake and then we can forget it ever happened.
you heard @Tecate say it, aldyn you are fine because its up to you if you want to submit it or not
I have not timed it, but it appears to be valid, otherwise.
I have no issues really with the savestate load back to the game select screen because it should not affect any framerules or anything like that. If it was back to the SMB1 title screen, that would be different.
I'm unsure of why you don't want to submit a PB. I mean nobody can force you to do it and we won't manually add it either. I personally like to have a record of my progressions, but to each their own I suppose.
disagree @zsjetu9
If a run is valid, it's valid.
If the person doesn't want to submit it, then they don't have to submit it.
Well... there goes my dream of 459 to 456
BUT hey, that just means I can go from 458 to 455 OpieOP
I mean b, its up to you if you want to submit it or not. I mean TECHNICALLY you would already have a 458 but you paused at axe. Even though this one is valid (or at least most of us think it is, if you say it unvalid then its unvalid) Nobody's gonna cri about getting from 458 from 456. If you say its unvalid then we (at least I) belive you. Also why no Pause at axe PogChamp ;)
Also I have a question Why did you do 458 attempts? Some Kind of Challenge?
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
- The run's full session must be included in the submission description.
- For emulator runs below 4:57.000, some form of input display must be visible for the duration of the run. A hand-cam or input
