so i recently decided that i would like to stream this game practicing and going for runs but i couldnt get a single viewer.

i really wanna know how to get a consistent fan/viewer base.
i am streaming just for the fun of it but i also wanna interact with people while playing the game.

i already know some fundamentals of content creation as i have a youtube channel with over 5k subscribers and 300k views but im very new to streaming. i would like to be taught some tips if thats ok

Sorry, but I don't think this is the place to talk about how to be a popular Twitch streamer.

I don't know, but not recommended here since these forums are about speedrunning not having 0 viewers on a Twitch stream.

I see you streaming, and looks like you have a mic but no camera - getting viewers takes time.

A few things - a camera helps, but if you're underage that might not be possible. The mic is definitely a good thing though.

From watching your stream it sounds like your audio levels could be corrected a little bit - your game audio is a little loud compared to your voice, it's a little hard to hear you.

The biggest part is just being patient. Be nice to people that join your stream, and engage them - there are people that have been playing mario for months somewhat consistently and only get a couple viewers. I still have streams where I only have zero or one viewer - Even more popular streams like Xeroxfiend, RoyLGamer, Tecate, etc... have streams where the chat is pretty light.

Remember that you're playing a one player game, if you have nobody watching, you're not at a loss... then if someone shows up it's all gravy 🙂 - just have fun trying to beat the game by yourself, and talk to people if they do come.

Also good luck, and welcome to the super mario bros. community!

Yeah, it's actually rare for me to get more than 2 views per stream! XD

@KomedyKid a thread doesn't end until it's locked.

People watch twitch streams for 2 reasons. They either like the gameplay or they like interacting with the streamer. If you can do both you are good to go ?.

Some people just prefer watching the gameplay or having your stream on in the background, not having conversations in chat. As you stream more consistently, more people will come in and out, just gotta keep at it!

Yeah you can’t expext to have any viewers for a while you should stream and when you do get viewers welcome them and say hi. You should try to get a consistent schedule (doesn’t have to be daily), it could be like Monday at 3pm-7pm, Tuesday at 11am-1:30pm, and Friday from 8pm-11pm or whatever works for you. Just be consistent and people will know when to come back. Make sure you display your schedule in your twitch panels. As far as Darpey said yeah make sure that your mic levels are good so people can hear you over the game. That’s very important because people will come into a stream for about 20 seconds and make a judgement call whether they stay or not and if there’s a mic problem they most likely will not stay. Hope this helps a bit 🙂

If you have 5k subscribers on YouTube, use YouTube to advertise your twitch channel (plug it at the end of your videos). Seems pretty obvious to me tbh.

Pick a title that will hook people in (something like "Any% attempts for 4:59" or something) because I get a few more viewers when I am doing attempts, rather than practice (yes, I click on Roy's stream because I see oh snap 4:56.5 attempts? I gotta watch this PogChamp )

Make an appealing thumbnail or something (I think, something that might catch someone's eye and make them like "o"

Get an OP any% PB. When I got my 4:59 I started getting a few more viewers, as opposed to my every once in a while 1 viewer I started getting more like 3 on average and stuff

Get WR OpieOP somewes got 200 more viewers per stream on top of his 70 when he got WR

Strim often (cuz then there are more chances for people to catch you I think)

Don't have a mic like mine (cuz it sounds dumb, but I like the ASMR so I'm a rebel)

Don't die

Go to other smb1 streams and talk to them and stuff, then people kno you

Make the stream attractive (something people would like to hang around in) and be attractive (someone people would like to hang around)

Or don't listen to any of this since I get average 4 viewers with 200 followers

TL;DR
In short just be patient and make a good streaming content ?.

(I didn't stream because I don't have a good internet and if I have a good internet, my sound quality is still not good meaning my mic sucks.)

Ps. I suggest not read inside the parentheses
