So, I want to start off by saying I have not run this game yet, I have been speedrunning for a little while but i guess in a lot of peoples eyes i'm a newbie haha.
I am attempting going through final 1 all the way to 10 not in one go, i am not looking to mentally scar myself haha.
but was wondering and I am not trying to suggest any memes but there is a % run in ff8 dollet which is more so like an intro the game kind of run, is there any room in this game for something like that like a midgar% I recently did a run for such a thing and well was curious if its something that could be added in or would be of interest to people.
p.s the idea was not mine the run but a runner that I talk to frequently they had done it a few times, so wanted to try it.
Midgar is definitely looked at as the first "chapter" of the run, though to my knowledge, it's never been seriously discussed as a category. I think a big part of the reason for that is the PC Any% category where, through the use of wrong warps, the game is completed in ~5 minutes after leaving Midgar anyway.
If you are looking to do a speedrun of every 1-10 FF, and you want a category that's basically Midgar%, I'd suggest learning PC Any%.
Edit: Of course, no one is going to stop anyone from running Midgar% on console if they want. It's perfectly legit to run whatever category or ruleset you want regardless of if there's an SRC category for it.
