fastest times not on these boards

No sub-5 times on SRL, SDA or TG. It would be unlikely to find a sub-5 run not submitted here.

I think it is so funny to say a record is, "invalid" if it is not on SR.... Well I guess rip to all the illegitimate Megaman and Donkey runs. Not to mention the guy who had WR in Taz Mania on youtube for mad long and no time submitted to SR

Also I am pretty sure there are people who have amazing runs that never submit times or even take video proof, as my friend was telling me of a buddy of his who speedruns games for fun, but pretty sure does not record because he simply doesn't care enough to compete with anyone except for the game and himself lol which is what it should be to begin with

@habs SDA and SRL are not RTA leaderboard sites. TG doesn't allow "glitches."

  • A combined list? Not that I'm aware of.
  • Fastest run not on our boards? That's an impossible question to answer. It could be on another board, it could not be on any board. Some people don't like their times on a leaderboard or have taken them down.
  • Existence of sub 5 runs with video not submitted here? Probably.

@FreddyHD I don't think you understand this. That person can always choose to believe that he got a 5:06. He can say it, and people might not believe him, but he can believe that he did. SR isn't the begin all and end all sight, just because someone doesn't submit a time or record, doesn't mean it didn't happen or doesn't truly exist. People can always choose to have their own believes, it's a lot like religion in that sense. So saying it isn't allowed to be recognized, is located me saying you can't be Jewish, or Christian, or Sikh, or of any other religion.

Lmfao this dude just actually compared speedrunning websites to fucking religion

@freddyhd If that person actually did that, and accomplished a 455, he could say it, and if they had no proof you could choose whether to believe the current best time with proof, or something that somebody just said. It is your choice what to believe.

I believe kosmicd12 to be the legitimate record holder myself. But, people on the internet will always for their own opinions on what they think the real record is, even if they are wrong. People will always have the right to think what they think (and they will), and you can't do anything about that. So the point of my argument is, people don't all have the same source for legitimacy. Heck, I could get political here if I wanted to.

Yes, you do have a choice. You have a choice on whether to believe fact and proof, or to believe your own thing. Let's say I get a 455. No one will believe me, but I will know that I have the record, and it will be valid in my view, even though to everyone else it was a lie I told. (I have no proof). People, or friends could choose to trust me, or they could choose to believe popular belief.

Basically, the idea is: you do you. Believe whatever the fuck you wanted even if it's wrong, you still DO have a choice. You always have a choice on whether or not to believe something is valid. If there is no evidence, and you believe that makes it invalid, then fine. I saw TavenWebb/SMBMAST3R get a 456 live, and some people say it didn't happen because they needed proof. I believe it happened I saw it. The leaderboards, or some people won't classify it as valid, but I personally believe it happened, so I count it as valid to my self, when I map out a leaderboard in my head, I count it, and if people say it's not, fine, you do you.

That is correct, at least in my opinion.

A record implies it was recorded. If it isn't recorded in some way then it's not a record.

No, he is not wrong to argue he has achieved it. But it is up to you whether or not to believe it. For example, many people believe TavenWebb/SMBMAST3R got a 456, yet there is no proof since the Twitch VOD didn't save. So people believe he got it, even without proof or it being on the leaderboard.

He didn't on his livestream he said that he didn't do it.

You can believe what you want, whether there be proof or not, like I could say I got a 4:59.15 offline, I believe that but you don't have to. Not even the proof of a PB or WR is guaranteed, maybe Kosmic actually spliced his any% WR so well that none of us could detect it, and he did such a good job of making a recording of it he could show the recording live and everyone watching was fooled (just an example Kosmic most likely didn't splice his record, I watched it live).

Why are u asking Freddy? Freddy is the one saying that world records need proof. So if ur trying to mock him with that, then it hasn't worked, and now u look like a fool

Also, side note, don't @ people in a thread completely unrelated to them. It's a real dick move.
