Been using the seed that the runners on top are using, and for some reason there are no browncoat villagers. I've checked every house in both villages that spawn and there's nothing. And their professions are the same every time, two clerics where there's supposed to be a farmer and fletcher. I've reset my game, used different profiles, I have no ideas left.

Villagers are all randomly assigned a profession on spawning, and unfortunately, this is an even 1/6 chance for each one. For specifically Farmers (so you can trade) this is then further broken down to the 4 different brown coat professions, ultimately making the chance of a Farmer spawning only 4.17%. https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Villager#Professions_and_careers
this is the seed for SSG 1.9+ which works on 1.9-1.12, is run on 1.12 and has pre 1.14 villager mechanics. your explanation doesn't apply here
so the villagers have the same profession every time you recreate the world?
yes, every time I spawn they are both clerics. i've checked the two villages and there's no farmers or fletchers.
Okay turns out I found the issue! Using Forge and Optifine somehow changes what villagers spawn where. Not sure how or why but it does. I'm switching versions around to see which one works.
