Movie recording on emulator for submissions

I was wondering if I could submit with only a movie recording in an emulator because recording software sometimes lag my game and also because the recording software that creates the least lag for me is xbox game bar recording but that's 30 frames per second and doesn't really matter that much but I still want my recording to be 60 fps but those programs usually lag a lot. (Also if you were wondering about how I would do that i would basically record the inputs on the emulator im using and when i get a time i want to submit i run the input file back and record it. (Also would I be able to submit sub 5 minute runs of I don't stream?))

Not saying you would fake runs, but that would be very suspicous and would probably be rejected becaue it would be extremely easy for you to play back a TAS instead. Especially if you are talking about sub 5 already.

that is true, but if they can prove the recording was made on nestopia they should be fine, since nestopia can't create or play back tases iirc

I'm not a mod

But a mod hasn't responded to this yet, and unless a mod says what I'm saying isn't correct - I believe the following to be true...

I would not think that would be allowable. The ability to fake a run is way too high.

Also to quote directly from the rules "Using savestates to the title screen is prohibited. You must use the reset function on your emulator or console and the RESET MUST BE SHOWN IN THE VIDEO"

You can, of course, ALSO upload a video playback of your run this way if you like your run playback on 60fps for some reason - but make sure to record the entire run also.

I would fully expect a run consisting solely of a playback video to be rejected, and I personally believe it ought to be rejected.

Record your screen. If you can't record your screen... do like several runners do and have a physical camera recording the screen.

And then sure - IN ADDITION TO THAT - you can make a playback video using input files to put on your personal YouTube page, or in the description along with the legal video for verification.

Well, thanks. It wasn't that much of a problem since I can probably close some programs in the background. I'll just record it and show the reset in the video. But I still have a question, in fceux which is the emulator I use for speedrunning and tasing, when you are recording a movie, a little circle shows up on the bottom right of the screen, so would I still be able to submit the run with that circle in place? If not I'll just switch to another emulator which doesn't show anything and just use fceux for tasing.

Just turn the circle off. Idk how, but I know it's possible

Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
