What do I use for better performance?

I see that optifine isn't allowed for 1.16 and my computer is really bad, there are a few legal options for mods so could someone suggest what I do if I want the UI to stay the same but just better performance? I'm pretty sure some of those mods change the UI, which is why I'm specifying that. Thanks!

Sodium is the best option, along with Lithium and Phosphor. All of there are allowed for 1.16+

United Kingdom

Most people use sodium (marked as jellysquid) it boosts frames by an insane amount, not as many options though.
