How do you get a good seed?

(Question is about 1.16 RSG) So how do you get a good run in 1.16? I end up not finding a village or a fortress usually and it's really annoying, I'm wondering if there's a better way to search for that stuff. I don't like resetting a bunch because I don't have much storage (465 GB total, 35 remaining).

TL;DR: How do I get a good run from a bad seed (without resetting)

You cant really do it without resetting. Just delete a world after you reset. Its mostly luck, not much you can do.

First of all, I would delete some of the useless junk on your computer as 35/465 GB is quite little.

To answer your question... You Can't.

Choosing which seeds to run on 1.16 is quite crucial depending on which strategy you are using, however, there are certain components to a seed that tells you which one to reset right away. In RSG, it is important to reset as opposed to wasting time on an unrunnable seed, thus increasing the chances of getting a good run

In old 1.16 strategies, you would usually want to run seeds with villages off spawn and desert/savanna seeds. This is because you either obtain a village (off spawn) or the biomes make it easier to search (deserts r perfect to find villages since there r no trees blocking the way).

When entering into the nether, especially for new players, I would 100% learn the nether regions as they can help you navigate through the nether. I do not have a video or resource linked to that, but if you ask around in the discord, someone will surely explain it in detail. Nether regions basically help you find structures such as bastions and nether fortresses which will obviously aid you in your run and allow for fewer resets.

In newer strategies which I can not go into detail about, but there are 1.16 pirate strats which are viable if you spawn next to an ocean (again, I'm not the man to ask or explain in detail), as well as villageless strats which is basically running 1.16 without a village.

The biggest thing to look for is when to reset and this can literally be done straight from spawn. For example, taiga and mountain biomes are usually an automatic reset since they are very slow to travel across and provide little visibility.

TL;DR

  • learn nether regions
  • learn when to reset a run
  • learn multiple 1.16 strategies so you don't have to seed search more often

To answer your question one more time: You can't get a good run without a good seed, and unfortunately, for beginner speedrunners, it is MUCH harder to get a good run with a decent seed. Therefore, ur chances of obtaining a good run are with resetting.

If anything here I mentioned about 1.16 is wrong pls correct me, I'm a 1.14 runner :D
