I've had an interest in really old versions of Minecraft for a long time now. And I think a run like this might get more people to know about them.
Brick pyramids were massive structures that generated during early versions of Minecraft Infdev from the 02-27-10 build to the 03-25-10 build. Basically the gist is to find an old Infdev version, and then try to get to the top of a brick pyramid as fast as possible.
This is basically a proof of concept run, as it was extremely sloppy and several minutes could be shaved off of it. I timed it as an 8:09 on the dot. I spawned in the world around -0.37, and I landed on the top brick of the pyramid at 8:09.37.
This is also my first time ever trying to speedrun https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=0&v=-YC3iyhiUdI
The description provides instructions on obtaining one of these versions, as they are not available inside the launcher.
I hope this doesn't seem like a stupid or overly silly idea, I just really like the idea of this as a potential for a category.
Edit: It appears a Pyramid will always spawn at 512,512
I've discovered something with the help of some people on the Omniarchive that: You always start at the coordinates 0,0 Pyramid always spawns at 512,512 Armed with this info Even though the run was really sloppy, I still finished out 2 and a half minutes ahead of my PB The RNG element has been removed meaning this run is viable
Interesting category.
Don't think this would get accepted, because it's too dry of a category. It'd be dead in a few months. Nevertheless, it is a cool idea
I feel it's a very specific category, on a very specific update of the game, that won't be improvable during the future since the game won't change. It may be interesting, but may not belong here sadly
