This walljump pixel seemed to propel me forward. Does this save or lose any frames over hitting the wall normally?
It loses more time because, it interrupts you're fall. This has happened to me also
You want to specifically avoid that pixel - it'll lose you a framerule typically. @Tecate taught me a good setup to NOT get it. Do a full jump when the front of Mario's leg passes the middle of the second cloud bump. No pixel :)
Another note to add is that you should also hold down while you're brushing against the wall. This is because Mario still faces the opposite direction even if he hits the walljump pixel which causes him to accelerate faster. Doing this saves the framerule almost all the time if you're doing the 3-bump method but hit the walljump pixel.
If you do it like this, it's basically the same speed I've tested this, and the fastest I've been able to go is only 1 frame slower than doing the optimal normal method as fast as possible.
Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
