go into the minecraft files and set gamma to 5.0 basically 500%
click windows type "run" (without quotes of course) hit enter type "%appdata%.minecraft" (again without quotes) hit enter double click "options.txt" (without quotes) go down to where it says gamma: then type 5 or 5.0 or whatever number you want
note: you are not allowed to change other options that would not be possible while in game, such as FOV and such
and yes, you can use bright without editing gamma and it is still bright enough for speedruns
