2 bump 4-2 (how) is it possible?

Backwards jump into the last pit, WJP(1bump) - Up and hit the upper brick platform corner. (2bump)

These give an x position of 130 or 131. Is it possible to get 132?

Also, Even if you can only get 130 or 131, Is it possible to get the 3rd tiny bump without losing too much time?

Feel like I have gotten lower with a 3rd (not sure) but last I remember was 25.80. Think that is about standard for 3 bump?

I don’t know about that method, but the any% no l+r tas does 2 bump on the wall by the mushroom block and one more on the lift or coin block (I don’t remember) and this gets lightning 4-2. (Sorry if that wasn’t what you meant) (first post)

it is actually possible to get 134, although thats not likely to say the least. 132 is realistically the most you'll get, if you can get 10 xpos from 2 bumps. This was the strat done on runs before fpg and blazit were found, and it was known to be a nightmare for runners, since the pipe entry can also be really hard. tl;dr yeah but just do blazit

Learning to do blazit now, Thanks.

Question about saving the additional frame rule. With slow motion and save states, I am able to enter the warp pipe 355 R18. Time 25.60.

How many frames faster does it need to be to save the frame rule?

I think I just realized it, Each game second has 2 frame rules? So I got R18 on the slower rule. I need 14 or 15 more frames to save the additional frame rule?

355 R18 saves the blazit/2 bumps framerule. R13 is R00 in warpzones, meaning you saved it by 5 frames Pellsson time doesn't mean anything, it's inaccurate Each in game second is 24 frames

Even if Pellsson time kinda inaccurate, if you get lightning 4-2 it’s around 25.34 most of time

Another 4-2 question, Clipping into the pipe just before the one we go down. Under the blue bricks in the middle. Is it possible to do that fast enough to be useful?

I basically spent the day figuring out how to clip there, I'm getting faster at it, but it's still slow. I figure there must be a way to clip there that is as fast as blazit?

If you watch nobodycallsmetubby’s 4:54.032 l+r tas, he does a blazit clip into the pipe right before the one you go in

There are a lot of different strategies that can get the 2-bump/blazit framerule, because the lightning framerule already has a lot of leeway for a TAS, so any strat that doesn't lose, like...40 frames over the fastest TAS strat should be able to at least get the blazit framerule.

I messed around briefly with TASing the pipe clip that you suggested, and yes it gets the blazit framerule easily (of course), but it seems to be a few frames short of getting the lightning framerule without L+R:

Thanks that's a great help, I was going to try TAS but it's not something I'm familiar with.

I did notice it might be possible to clip a block lower, bouncing off the koopa. Maybe I'll try TAS and experiment with that.
