I've been trying to up my cancel combo game beyond the basics, but I feel like I'm hitting a wall. The move I'm trying to learn is sidestepping behind the enemy after a cancel, as shown in this tutorial video, but I can't get the timing right.

Any advice on how to make this work?

Best advice i can give is mapping guard to L1 so when you finish your combo you would push L1 and the directional button up. Trying to jump to X and a directional button is trash to me hahaha. Another tip would be holding the last button of your combo while you're trying to sidestep. Hope that helps my dude
