I discovered something by complete coincidence: a skip I like to call Buuhan Skip.
On Stage 8, if you defeat Buutenks before he can absorb Gohan, you can skip the entire Buuhan fight and go straight to Stage 9.
I'd suggest bringing Goku/Supreme Kai over to where Buutenks is and generally avoid using Gohan unless Buutenks happens to run into him, as if he falls over, Buutenks absorbs him and you fail the skip. I think it won't be much of an improvement, seeing as Stage 8 is second-to-last in the North American and European versions of the game, but it's a discovery nonetheless.
I do not know if the dragon world speedrunners use this skip but I think not, so well done you have just entered the history of this game by finding this skip which can be very useful for speedruners
