Hi moderators,

I'm trying to get a turn based category going for CIV 6 and was wondering how you managed to implement that here. I notice that you don't have a column indicating the # of turns? where you unable to do this?

I agree as well, i think we need to include more actual game play based speed run categories. I'm in favour of incorporating a turn-based time weighted component as well, especially on deity.

Im with you Donald33. I just posted a tread as well. A category like this would be far more fun to play in i think. Could probably get a few youtubers involved as well, as they current use # of turns as a benchmark for a fast victory.

btw, i understand % ancient exists at the moment. and the current leader has a very cool run that does require skill and good RNG. This sort of run (if on deity + all standard) would be very cool if we tracked the # of turns it took and the time it takes to get there. I think a "%Deity" category could be added to support this (where turns can be counted). Subcategories for each victory condition would be ideal as well, as the religious victory seems to be clearly the fastest mode.

Im proposing this mode as an analog for a %glitchless run (although obviously not the same). I just see so many youtubers these days pushing for sub 200 (or even sub 100) turn runs that would be very cool to see added to a leader board of some type here. I want to compete as well!

Hi all,

Love this game and for a while have had myself asking the question, who has the shortest deity victories for each respective victory condition. Most importantly, in terms of number of turns. A speed run category based on turns seems to show case the game far better and would hopefully produce runs that aren't in the milliseconds. Personally, I don't care to try and compete in the %any category, as it seems far less fun and less strategy required.

Just wondering what everyone's thought are on this? I would love to see a more preset game mode type (e.g. deity, ancient era, standard everything, and random map maybe?) that would showcase game strategies a lot better in the speed running community. This could also spin off nicely into shortest # of turns for each CIV (as some are significantly better than others). The turn victory could also be weighted with time, such that a tie on the turn # could be settled with play time.

What are you thoughts? How can i create this ?
