Username changes are handled in the thread that Gyoo linked to ;)

Also, I'm not sure that you realize that you're asking two different questions. Timmiluvs is right about timing with in-game timers (IGT). But in general, for games that use real-time (RTA), it is okay to time the run post capture.

@EmeraldAly

I personally just like to be as accurate as possible, for the sake of being accurate. I'm not sure what frame counting is, but I don't think I would feel the need to do that for every run. However, I do check all of my videos to see the time of the final frame. If frame counting is no more involved than loading a video into an editor, then I'd probably do it. I say why not? If I have the choice between being slightly inaccurate and just as easily being slightly more accurate, then it isn't a burden. It doesn't matter, either way. My only concern is personal integrity.

Also, 25 does feel better than 75, for some people. Those are the same people that bombard the forums with posts about "how long does it take to get a run verified?" after having waited for only a day or two, because they just need-so-bad for their progress to be visible. I don't like the fact that people are emotionally affected by such things, for the same reason that I'm not interested in confronting people for stopping their timer slightly early. It's not worth my time to fret about it.

"Worth my time", get it? :P

You're right that it likely wouldn't ever matter, in terms of leaderboard rankings. Most boards don't even include milliseconds.

By the way, the Jacksonville Suns are changing their name to Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. That gives me another idea:

It's accurate for any game except Mega Man games, really.

So what do you need help with? Is it recording your game with the timer, or is it with setting up splits, etc.?

Are you saying that you found Time Split Trcker in the speedrun.com forums?

Do you have a Windows PC, as well as a Mac? (You mentioned using the PC version)

If you have a Windows PC, and if your loyalty to TST only extends as far as "I found it and tried it", then I would suggest trying livesplit and listening to whatever tcd11 has to say.

If you need help with capturing it, rather than setting it up, then Timmiluvs is correct.

Does that mean @kirkq is up for grabs? ;)

Now that I think about it, I'm legitimately going to refer people to you, any time I see a question like this :D

If no one answers soon, then someone who may know is Aquas (SRC@Aquas, Twitter@Aqy). He runs Ultimate Ghouls n Ghosts on PStv, so he's familiar with the hardware.

A MM1 runner has had their run pending verification for 21 days:

If that is accurate, then all three of the moderators have been online within that timespan.

@andypanther

Wow, that's odd. If I count your level runs by category instead of by level, then I get 25. If I count your miscellaneous categories, then I get 29.

The only thing I can think of is if "played categories" doesn't include levels, and you have some runs that are pending in some way (rejected or awaiting verification). Even rejected runs stay on the site.

I'm not trying to answer your question, just musing and commenting :D Also, I win the grand prize, if my hypothesis is correct!

@HowDenKing

say sā/ verb

  1. utter words so as to convey information, an opinion, a feeling or intention, or an instruction.

Both "It all" and "it all" convey the same information, so they both say the same thing, actually.

Also, thanks for taking the arcade version seriously. A ton of the games that people list as "arcade" are actually boards for the NES (or other) version. It's pretty annoying :P

If it's between the SNES and anything else, then yeah, definitely go for the SNES. You can look into flash cartridges like this, as well: http://www.stoneagegamer.com/flash-carts/super-everdrive-snes-sfc/

If there are SEGA games that you end up wanting to play, then you should check out what they have released on Steam. When it's on sale, you can pick up all 60 of their Steam releases for $15.

SNK/Neogeo has also released a lot of their popular games on Steam and PC. I got a bunch in a Humble Bundle, once.

Aside from the games and the communities, another reason to get an SNES is that Nintendo has been way more stingy than other companies, and their games aren't as readily available on other platforms.
