Registering names to get runs up on the boards isn't an acceptable solution to a lack of functionality for suggesting runs to add for others users.

(Also adding 30th place without user request probably isn't the greatest idea. We don't really want people grabbing every run anyone ever does on Twitch.)

LennonPlays: If this is you (it looks like it probably is?): http://www.speedrun.com/user/Len could you post in this thread with that account? Can I delete that account?

I can't make account pages redirect. The search bar should include Twitch names tied to accounts, it's pretty smart.

louiskanak: If the gameplay between platforms is pretty different (not a straight port), it should probably be a different game. Two games having the same name is just coincidence and not necessarily worth tracking under the same game. At a glance, sprites look way larger in the Arcade version, which I assume affects general gameplay greatly, so it's probably a different game. If the gameplay is very similar (US vs J.P. or NES vs WiiVC), it should generally be the same game. (It looks like you can add the game yourself now.)

Mouseover text was added (for now I guess.) There's probably a better place to put this later, but sidebar is fine for now.

There are probably more reasonable ways to request information than phrased in the topic title.

huxxny: ok, more than one mod is generally good and you have a good time in the game. (To be fair he could've verified it without seeing your message.) louiskanak: You can use the game request form for games that don't exist: http://www.speedrun.com/requestgame (or you can contact super mods)

Trollbear, I don't recommend using game forums for moderator requests right now, we don't currently have sufficient functionality such that people check them regularly (in progress.) Twitch messages generally work better.

There's some issues with timezone code throughout the site. Probably all run data should be stored in the same timezone as you say, which it probably isn't right now.

Normal users don't get the ability to delete full threads on any forum I've ever been to. (Unless you're referring to something else similar.)

giantsteps92: Tend to agree, but the moderator seems reasonably active, so try contacting him on Twitch or elsewhere first per the first post in the thread.

Is there anything stopping you from doing runs?

I think everyone pretty much agrees for any% save corruption is a different category (layout TBD) and all categories can use spirit dupe and OoB.

Realistically, no OoB doesn't really add that much except potentially a boring walk through blue cave (route TBD) and a boring walk through boil hole. I don't really see a place for it outside of glitchless if we want to maintain that.

Another option is to just have "uses spirit dupe" and "uses OoB" as variables on all the runs, like I advocated before, but you guys didn't seem too keen on that.

I have no strong preference on what is done with 100%.

any% US, save corruption any% US, no save corruption any% JP 100% US, save corruption (These might fit better in the same table if we want to maintain both.) 100% US, no save corruption (These might fit better in the same table if we want to maintain both.) 100% JP

Run whatever you want IMO.

User brodsy5 has 1 view on Twitch, no past broadcasts or bio, and claims a time coincidentally 3 seconds above the top time listed. Must be a crazy coincidence. I'd recommend streaming or locally recording and uploading videos.

The brawl moderator is fairly active anyway.

Reordering resources similar to how categories are handled should be relatively easily implemented.

Beyond that: I'm wanting generic groups of things for other functionality as well, so writing grouping code specifically for resources might not be the best use of time right now.

Yeah this should ideally be a thing in some form. I don't really think boxes are sufficient by themselves as a default. Option to only list text by default might be a good thing for user settings.

Score counters are something we want to add in the timer modularity update that keeps getting pushed back. If your game only has score, it probably makes sense to wait until that functionality exists before adding it.

The running idea has been arbitrarily named timers and/or counters that go up or down and can be format configured.

Just my 2 cents towards the initial post, not towards anything said after that.

1: It might be ideal to have "open content submission" so to speak and one or two "content managers" who accept (and sometimes write) articles. I want neither of those jobs, so having someone in charge would probably be good. 2: Ideas for good topics may be covering marathons, notable new records, community spotlights, other speedrunning related gaming stuff like the Nintendo World Championships recently. There's certainly plenty of options. Articles like those on Shoryuken seem to be a fair baseline (though they almost have too many). We probably don't want Kotaku style articles; dramatic topics should be avoided in most cases.

I'll leave this mostly up to Pac, but those are my recommendations.

grimdonuts: I'll add the current mods as super mods. louiskanak: We can't really support scores at the moment, but we want to build the option to support that eventually. Tohloo: Okay, last online 3 weeks ago, and two mods is usually better than one. Lyseria: Okay, you have runs and two mods is usually better than one. tatticadanito: Ok, guy who added the series originally hasn't been online in 5 months so I removed him. I'll add Verz as super mod, and make all the regular mods super mods.

Personal preference: I'd rather not encourage game submissions on a total whim as it will probably degrade the quality of requests and moderators. While marginal, I think having the slight initiative to go to the form for requests is preferable. Admittedly the link could probably be in another place or two, but I'd rather not have everyone who searches thinking about submitting a game every time they search something. Basically to improve request quality, someone should navigate the site at least a little bit before they submit a game in my opinion.

Secondly: The search form is also for users, so if the user doesn't exist, I don't want to submit them as a game, which looks a bit odd.

shizoku: OK, Ico has no runs posted and mod hasn't been online in two months.

L1nkpikachu: SMS already has 7 mods who are doing a fine job. If you're relatively new, I'd suggest just playing the game and getting involved with the community. "I just started the game" is probably not good criteria for a moderator of a popular game with very active runners.

I'm removing the series moderators for now and I put them as moderators in a couple of the games where it made sense. Mario and Zelda also have no series moderators. No issues were brought up, but it seems to make the most sense given that series moderators didn't have power in most of the games anyway. I just noticed this when I was adding more games to the series.

If the series as a whole wants to organize some people to put "in charge", I'm mostly fine with this, but for now it seems like the games want to operate on their own for the most part.

Especially in the case of "users not on the site", I don't really like the idea of hosting a comment board without their approval. Youtube comments are able to be moderated by the user. Run comments are potentially prone to harassment

If implemented I would prefer: 1: No comments on runs by non-users 2: Users have the ability to permanently turn off and moderate comments on their runs.

Phillotrax: Generally if the game has existed for a while and the moderator has put no real effort into setting up categories and 0 runs are added by anyone for the game, I'll give it to someone else. Many of these are leftover from before the game request form overhaul I think. Well in this case it looks like the old moderator may have removed himself, so have at it.

Remz: I'm probably stupid and either forgot or misclicked. :)
