Oh nice, I've just started running Castle Crashers as well. There's a Discord in the Forums if you wanna hop in there, it's actually pretty active with runners right now.
"battleonfan1: User has a run and was on yesterday. You do not appear to have a run. "
Either below the normal speedrun.com forums or on the SDA forums is where 90% of marathons and events are going to be posted.
The date that the run was done. So if you uploaded the video of your run the day that you did it, then that would be the date you would put in your submission.
I've contacted the devs and asked them to make 1.0 always available so that any runners could be on an even playing field if and when they decide to update the game, especially if it breaks extended climbing or blocks us from reaching the upper areas of maps.
(Obviously we could just back up the data ourselves and revert it on our own but this seemed like a simpler and more easily accessible way if they were willing to help out.)
Got a response back pretty quick and if you go into the game properties on Steam, in betas there's now an option to revert back to 1.0. Just thought I'd let everyone know about so once we go past the current patch everyone knows the way to go back.
Click your name on the top right, go to Settings, and under Front Page Settings, change "Maximum # of followed runs" to zero.
Hey Taco, welcome to the community!
Probably the best place to get tips for KH II is on their sub-forums ( http://www.speedrun.com/kh2/forum ) or asking one of the active runners about good resources or guides for learning. They also have notes for various categories ( http://www.speedrun.com/kh2/guides ) that you might find as a good starting place as well.
Best of luck with your runs!
Probably Superhot 100% at just shy of 4 hours.
Not a fan of it for a couple reasons. Mostly because it feels like it's the opposite of a speedrun where you're trying to survive as long as possible, but also because Endless runs at a high level break down to either sitting in a corner with a katana or glitching the game in a way where enemies only come from one location, neither of which are exactly noteworthy or impressive, just time-consuming. So my vote would be no unless there's a good reason I'm missing or not thinking of.
Thank you for the key :) I used: FXYZV-YRHD6-33A39
Private videos: only you can watch Unlisted videos: anyone with the link can watch, but it isn't visible on your channel
If you made it private, he/she wouldn't be able to watch it to verify it. That's what the reason means.
It isn't as important for runs below it, but for WR runs having a video is necessary in a lot of games. No matter how much you trust someone, without proof you can just say any time you feel like, or just pause the game for a moment and step away, redo segments, or just in general cheat. And without the video, nobody can see what strats you do and use them to improve their own runs, or learn from your video if they want to get into the game. It's a sucky situation where you aren't allowed to upload or record entire videos, but would you be fine with someone coming out of nowhere, saying they beat your WR by a decent amount of time, but they didn't record it and to just trust them?
I just don't understand the entire notion that you can "know someone isn't cheating" by just seeing the beginning and end of a video. Wish there was a way around it for you so you can run these games, but until you can figure something out I don't see a problem with rejecting the run.
Doing a run already also helps so they don't have worries about making a empty category, as well as have other people run it too, but asking a mod is a good start in case they feel like it's too obscure of a run. Even if it isn't eventually on the leaderboard, you can still do runs of it, you just can't submit them here.
I don't mind it as long as it won't be an intensive thing and be difficult to remove later when it does eventually break from updates, and as long as the game plays the same. Personally I don't like the game being "modded" and then speedrunning it because that makes people question that and it not being the same game, but if it's a small thing to make the splitter easier to make, I don't have much of a issue with it.
@ScarinfacT It's just the link of the page after you upload your splits to splits.io
