The thing about easy runs is that, the more you practice your game, the more you'll realise how big of an asshole your game is. It might start out easy, but eventually it's going to be nearly impossible to save those precious frames.

So, pick something you like, that you won't mind giving up casually forever. You probably won't see the game in the same light any more after.

I've brought this up before in conversation. It definitely is a bit ironic.

Egads, what a terrible world we're living in when a person has to hit an extra button when submitting a run. What a travesty.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I thought it sounded a little odd.

You post a request at the following link, requesting your account be deleted. http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/frjsy

And you can't really say the admin aren't responsive, considering you haven't posted a request on the board yet.

Also, I'm editing to add in that there are rules about which accounts can be deleted. The account can't have had any posts or runs posted in a year, and the account has the remain inactive for that period of time as well. Your last post before seeking deletion was around seven months ago. I have no clue about being otherwise inactive. I also don't know if special exceptions are made, but the only real way to find out is to post on that board all the same.

So, I have no personal experience with this trick while attempting a run, and it's very RNG reliant, but in Star Ocean the Second Story there is a really neat trick you can attempt in either a run or casual play. The way you start this trick differs based on which main character you pick at the beginning of the game, but partway through the first disc the character, Claude, will be in a tournament. If you picked Rena, you get the weapon automatically by supporting the poor old man. In Claude's scenario, you can get it from the old man after losing in the last tournament round.

Then, with this weapon, the Sharp Edge, at hand, you need to get the the customisation skill to level 8 to have any chance of proceeding. Once you have it, you save then spend your SP on the skill Radar. Each time you level it up, you gain one random item from a long list of potential items. You basically just spam levelling this skill on all your characters, then check your inventory. If you gained 2 mithril, you save again. If you don't, you reload and keep trying Once you have 2 mithrils, you customise the Sharp Edge. If you succeed you'll end up with a weapon called the Minus Blade, which is awful. You then customise the Minus Blade with a mithril and you'll end up with the Eternal Sphere, which is one of the main character's ultimate weapons.

As far as I know, it has the 3rd strongest damage out of any of his weapons. It also offers resistances to several elemental attacks. Whenever you perform a basic attack with the weapon, it'll shoot out a spray of stars, each of which hit the enemy as hard as the basic attack would. Most importantly, the weapon is strong enough to allow you to steam roll pretty much everything in the game.

I think this trick is avoided by most people because the odds of getting 2x mithril are dreadfully low, and made even lower by having few spare SP to level Radar with. You can get the weapon later in the game without terrible RNG by picking up mithril on the 2nd disc, but if you had the supreme luck of getting this trick to work quickly, you can steam roll the game.

I think I'll give SMW a whirl at some point. I've seen a couple people play it before over the years, but I've never played it myself. I'll probably be terrible, which is totally fine. Recently I've been abusing myself with scythe only Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts runs, at least up until stage 7 of loop 2 since you need the bracelet to finish the game. I haven't actually managed to win yet, but I've made it to the end of 2-7.

Astaroth and Nebiroth don't like me much.

Hey there! I'm a new runner. I say that instead of wannabe because I have successfully ran a game and even submitted it to the site. Who knows how long it'll take for approval/denial, but I'm patient. How patient? I ran God Eater 2: Rage Burst in 9 hours, 19 minutes, and 14 seconds in a single segment. Self promotion hype!

I'm also looking for at least one other game to run at least semi-regularly! Duration of a game really doesn't matter to me. If the run is long, that's entirely fine by me. I want an SNES game. I also want a pony.

Suggestions? Comments? Got a pony to get rid of?

I'm considering looking into the PS4 version after current projects are finished. That would probably be mid June to early July though, at the earliest.
