i watched some of the top runs and noticed the clock that the WR holder has in the corner.
I am pretty sure its the same clock layout that you have on ZSNES.
Since ZSNES is globally banned as an emulator for speedruns i was wondering whether the WR runs are legit after all.

the current "WR" for the "5,6,7" category seems to not be real because it seems to be the wrong category, was seemingly "4 or younger" but just got verified without taking a look it seems.

I would appreciate it (just makes the cheat code category kinda weird)..however its weird netherless :D Dont know what others would say but i doubt we have any more runners here right now..but there will be two more friends joining soonish and they pref fadeout after final boss aswell i guess, i would like it :)

i was wondering a lot why the end of the timing is supposed to be when credits are reached and not when the fadeout happens after beating the final boss? Would make more sense to me, because nothing really happens in the outro.. Also it should be the same for every runner...i see that the Genesis WR ends time after fadeout (which is my prefered timing method aswell)
What do you guys think?
It is only possible on the PAL version of the game, which means that even PAL runs slower over the entire time it is still over a minute faster than NTSC..maybe that is also the case for the Genesis version.

it is actually a cool idea to include it as a shorter category and maybe that would be more beginner friendly aswell. If there is interest we can add it. Only "problem" why it does not exist yet is that we allready have 3 categories and 2 of them have no real interest whatsoever. I don't like dead categories and adding some only for the sake of having them, but if you are interested we can of course add it :) Greetings

i wondered if anyone knows how Cake skip works? I mean we have the discovery VoD of Nix but it does not say anything on what inputs to do and what timing etc.
About Palace Skip: I thought i figured out the secret of how to get it consistantly but it seems i was wrong since my last attempts never got it to work in a fast way. Can we figure these two out as a (even tho small) community?

sorry for the delayed answer. I assume the input lag you are refering to is the one that is kinda in the game itself. I recommend using ePSXe 2.05 (?) or whatever version it was. Since I am currently pretty much out of the game i do not remember the options for the emulator not too well so i cannot really say if the input problem could be fixed with some settings.

Fetti_touretti and I talked about creating a category without warps at all (no fruit warps, no game over warps) I also have a run already for the leaderboard so it won't be empty. The fitting name would be "Any% warpless" but since there is a category with that name that is a "some warps are ok, some aren't" we would need another name such as "100%" or "all stages".
I would be thankful if a mod could create that category.

EDIT: You were right! The two types should be seperated because type A allows you to get boss one - shots, which safe a lot of time. A moderator should act about that.

if you do the fargus roll attack you get a slight speedboost for the length of the animation. So if you do that roll and die while the animation is still going, you will keep that speedboost for normal walking. (you can even stack it multiple times, thats why wr does it twice..its still worth and saves time compared to doing it just once)
The only downside is that you lose these stacked speedboosts after the next animal portal. So thats why this glitch is only used at that point of the game, because you have alot of stages and paths until the next animal transform gate appears (which is in desert 2)
yea zsnes is definitely banned globally, so should be common sense that it is for here aswell
Hey FF: Mystic Quest community. I know that there is supposed to be no way to manipulate the floor on which Pazuzu might land. My questions: 1.) when does the game decide the floor for Pazuzu? (the exact frame he disappears after talking on floor 3?) 2.) How much testing went into a possible manipulation? Was there an insane amount of investigation yet? 3.) Is the chance for each floor the same? (all 20%?) 4.) Is there anything you could do to increase the chance for floor 6 slighty, or something you could do wrong when speaking to him?
Wanna start testings etc...I am currently grinding and had now 20 (!!) Pazuzus in a row that did not appear to be on floor 6..That is why i am asking myself if i do sth wrong or if there might be a way to legimately get "consistant" floor6 spawns.
