At the end of the run I reset and get the warn to save my best segments. I choose Yes to save.

Even so, my saved splits don't get updated.

At the moment My PB in a game is 39:03 but my live split keep mantaining the old time 39:29 as refference.

Is it a bug? Or I need to configure something?

When requesting a game or moderating a game, we set Tags like "Developer" , Publisher" "Type of game (fighting, racing, vehicular combat)"

But those Tags can't be seen by users (only mods) and they don't appear on search. For example, there's no way of sort games by developer or publisher on search.

So I'm just curious about those tags. What are they used for in reality?

Since some Players want to play with these characters I created a new category: ARCADE MODE - Powerful characters.

How to play this category:

"Gain enough experience to display pictures of Dictator, Akuma, and Garuda in the Expert Mode screen. Now go to the character select screen and hold Start while choosing either Dictator, Akuma, or Garuda."

@f1 I have 2 Versus runs waiting to be uploaded, but I like to clock my videos after recording and then upload.

I wish that you consider changing the time rules for time starts in CLASH instead of level select, just to eliminate our worries about loads. What you think?

Also I wish to ask you to remove X2ndhandsarcasm run from the board since he doesn't have any profile on speedrun.com anymore.

Miscellaneous runs normally are not shown on runner personal profile. :-( Is there a way to make so Miscellaneous runs appear on personal profile?

If not, woud it be possible to move the board to non Miscellaneous?

I loved this game on its release back then and never got tired of playing it. I'm back playing it and I'm currently running this game almost everyday, so I will be posting runs as soon as I get a satisfying time. I'm used to moderating games in Speedrun.com, so it would be a pleasure to moderate this game.

Since this game can get frustrating in full game runs (it is a hard game)

I was thinking in creating more simple categories, but also very fun.

I'm currently running the PS2 version. I haven't been able to get a descent run (damn, this game can get so frustrating xD) but I'm improving with each try.

I have a question: Is there any difference beetween PS2, xbox and Gamecube?

I have the PS2 version, but I might consider emulating the gamecube if it's a better option. But is there any diffeence? What you guys think? Also, is it easy to emulate this game on gamecube?

Twisted Metal: Black all takes place in Needles Kane’s/SweetTooth’s mind. SweetTooth is the other personality of Marcus. Since SweetTooth is the stronger personality, Marcus is stuck in SweetTooth’s mind, where everything is dark. Every character’s personality and story is a representation of how SweetTooth thinks or something he has done in the past.

GRIMM - Regret for a horrible act/Addiction to a horrible act ROADKILL - Forgetting your old life CRAZY 8 - Revenge against someone that has blinded you physically or mentally SPECTRE - Never finding love/Being an outcast/Selfishness DARKSIDE - Loss of innocence SHADOW - Friendship/Avenging someone important to you YELLOW JACKET - Broken family/Legacy after you die AXEL - Guilt for someone’s death WARTHOG - Removal of remorse MANSLAUGHTER - Demons/Intruders MINION - The biggest obstacle

The only ones who are aware of their presence in SweetTooth’s mind are Marcus, Black/Manslaughter and Calypso.

Minion is Marcus in SweeTooth's mind. That's why when we play with Minion we see those messages in codes "I DON'T THINK THIS IS REAL". "I THINK WE ARE TRAPPED IN HIS MIND" and so on.

Black is a demon who was sent by his master, from the real world, into SweetTooth’s mind to kill the Calypso in SweetTooth’s mind.

In the real world, Twisted Metal is an actual competition. The original Twisted Metal, 1995 (also Twisted Metal 2 and Twisted Metal Head on) is the real world.

Black’s master is the real Darkside, Mr. Ash/Darkside from Twisted Metal (1995). Mr. Ash is the devil.

Calypso obtained his powers by stealing Black from Mr. Ash and using Black’s demonic power to grant the wishes that the winners of the contest ask for. Since Calypso is present in SweetTooth’s mind, he used Black’s power to transport from his real body to his body inside SweetTooth’s mind and hides from Mr. Ash there, while remaining aware of where he is. Since Black is also present in SweetTooth’s mind, Mr. Ash sent Black from his real body to his body inside SweetTooth’s mind to kill the Calypso there. Since Calypso does not control Black in SweetTooth’s mind, Black is able to follow Mr.Ash’s commands. Since Calypso is aware that he is in SweetTooth’s mind, being killed by another aware person would kill him in the real world also, which is why Mr. Ash sent Black to kill him there. Mr. Ash cannot go himself because he does not exist in SweetTooth’s mind, which is why Calypso chose to hide there.

SweetTooth does not notice Marcus, Black and Calypso being aware because SweetTooth sees his imagination as the real world.

Since PS2 version has an extra Level on Story Mode, wouldn't be better to have different boards for each platform?

The code "Exchange Weapons for Health" is considered Cheating?

Fireball and Frezze attack "During game, with your yellow bar full, hold down L1, L2, R1, R2, and press right, left up. This will shoot a devasting fireball and also a freeze ball."

The first one uses health and the other uses the power bar

I hope someone had the same problem and managed to solve?

Everytime I finished a run or reset the timer, Livesplit gave me this message

"You've beaten some of your best segments. You want to save them?"

But now this message stopped showing up. it just doesn't happen anymore. Either I finish the run entirely (beat the game) or reset It just does with no message and never update the times...

Anybody knows how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

How much FPS does Duke Nukem Time to Kill run?

I always set OBS to default 48fps. I know psone runs probably much less than that. But I'm not sure so my final videos always look weird. And sometimes even have some frame drops.

Which FPS setting is the best for record?

This game is one of those that is a lot of fun to play casually, but is hard to speedrun. And although very few people feel interest in speedrunning it, I know that many people play it casually,

So I decided to create a thread for "possible online multiplayer games", as the game have a very fun split screen.

So here's the silly question, out of curiosity or for whatever reason:

I wish to know if according to Speedrun.com major rules It's freely allowed to have game forums as a place to meet people for multiplayer online?

I ask this because I know that the main purpose of the community should be the speedrunning competition. And there are other forums and places for this kinda lobby

So, is it allowed: Yes? No? And what are the restrictions?

I just see that the emulator Epsxe supports multiplayer online.

So I would need at least 1 player to test with me, some configs and see if we manage to play some amazing multiplayer 1 v 1.

If we manage to, It could result in a new thread with a tutorial and links for everything we need and every player could come and join for epic Split Screen. Even those who are not running the game yet.

So, who's down with it?

Turning handles Sometimes Duke gives 1, 2 or 3 turns in handles/valves. Being 3 or 1 turns more common and 2 turns seem the rarest. When it's just one turn it saves time. But I think It's all random. However I notticed that when I approach the handles walking left or right with L2 or R2 it's more common (I think increases the chance) of getting 1 turn. Still it doesnt seem manipulative at will. And if you just walk towards the handle it will get 1 turn sometimes anyway.

Running I notticed Duke runs slightly faster when he is not holding any weapon. I haven't done any precise test, but it looks quite obvious to me.

• His movement animation itself is faster
• I feel that I cover more ground if I'm running with no weapons at hand.
• When I run and jump, Duke jumps further, if I don't have a gun equipped.
• When I jump over a small platform or a pit, I have less chance to fail the jump when Duke is not holding any weapon.

So I think it saves seconds in the long run, even if you have to equip and unequip weapons all the time.

It is just me?

Im' trying to improve my time on the current category. Meanwhile I just wanted to share a few things and give some ideas.

• The name of the category will be changed to "BEAT THE GAME - EASIEST LEVEL". Everything else remains the same.

ABOUT THIS CATEGORY:

• This is the easiest category. Simple beat the game on easiest level, WUSSY, until we have enough runners to think about other levels, for now easiest level is ok.

• All Glitches are allowed

• Player can use continues and lives. Because this is the way the game is intended to be played. You can die easilly (if not on enemies, you can die on hazards) so that's why you have plenty of lives. So you can die and continue from where you died.

• You can't use Loads though. Because using load games, there's no garantee that the loaded game would bring extra items, medpacks and stuff.

• So player has to Start a New Game and cannot load games and use cheats.

ABOUT NEW CATEGORIES:

I'm thinking about new category = "ALL WEAPON UPGRADES" which means you have to finish the game taking all the Surprise Items. And going into the bonus for get all weapon upgrades. This would be a lot of fun! Cause it adds a new feature. All weapons become very powerful and would kill enemies and bosses faster. This is not a cheat. As you'd have to legit complete the bonuses.

ABOUT "ALL WEAPON UPGRADES" CATEGORY:

• The player would not need to access all secret areas. This is not a 100% category. You just need to get all weapon upgrades.

THE WEAPON UPGRADE BONUS

• When you take the surprise item during the stage, at end of this stage you go to the weapon upgrade bonus.

• In each bonus you have a multiplayer split screen stage with a bunch of enemies that you have to kill before the clock ends and exit by the portal. You kill all enemies and get to the exit portal before clock ends and one of your weapons is upgraded.

IMPORTANT:

• The bonus work with a clock that stops either if you failed the bonus or when you successfuly completed and killed all enemies and exit through portal.

• Once you're in the bonus, You have to either fail the bonus by waiting for the time to end, or you can kill all enemies before time's up and exit

• You can't scape the bonus otherwise, because it would be cheating the time.
